The Avengers' origin is updated for the 2010s, as Loki summons Earth's Mightiest Heroes with a phony signal.  THE GOOD This is something of a follow-up to Joe Casey's update of the X-Men's origin with Steve Rude - - the underrated Children of the Atom, which dropped a couple years before the Ultimate line. Avengers The Origin is both a retelling and an expansion of Avengers #1 from 1963. The time of the issue taking place is roughly inline with the fabled sliding Marvel time, albeit with the odd technological discrepancy here and there.
