well for starters there's the bluntness of their left-wing aesop crap. then there's how superheroes these days treat any form of secrets like a plague. and of corse there's the dude with the army of iron suits and the guy with a lightning hammer criticizing others for having weapons.
The army of iron suites are the intellectual creation and property of a single man, he didn't go out and by them he made them and then told the government to screw off when they tried to seize them.
Thor's hammer is also pretty right of center if you think about it, its a weapon whose entire premise is based on people not being equal, some people are worthy others are not.
As for secrets, most people view lying as dishonorable, and secrets and lies go hand in hand. Heroes are above keeping secrets, they succeed or fail the right way, with honor.
In my opinion SHIELD is pretty left wing, wanting to control and regulate super heroes but has a mix of authoritarianism with its mass spying. You also can't really get more right wing than walking around with wmd's for you personal protection, so I have absolutely no issue with the Avengers talking crap about Shield because that resonates with my libertarian views.
I am really curious as to why you think the scene is very liberal? Yeah Joss Whedon is a big lib but he really doesn't have much to work with in the Avengers, everyone on the team has fought against the government ,and to me that's about as right wing as you can get. I guess it boils down to a single question, which side did you think was the right wing side during civil war?
To me Captain America was the side of freedom and small government, where as Tony was the side of big government and the safety of the many over the rights of the few.
However, I can see how others might see it differently, Tony as an authoritarian right wing rule of law ,guy, and Captain America the champion of civil rights in the face of oppressive laws.
Why is this relevant you might ask, well honestly it basically means we perceive situations through the lense of our own bias, which is why some might see shield as left wing while others see it as right wing.
