    Avengers Acandemy # 23 0

So X-23 is orphan and has no where to go. X-23 will be cancelled by X-23 # 21 and with X-23 off X-Force, off the X-Men, off her solo book. Here she is, The Avengers Academy. Her introduction seemed kinda sudden with her talking to Hank Pym. It seems like she's off to a easy start joining the team. A great moment with this book is that you get a clear explanation of X-23 history, so that new readers will instantly understand half what they need to know. These Kids Have Issues 1

WOW! Two words. Heavy. Issue. I know I say this every few months now but Avengers Academy just KEEPS getting better! I wasn’t feeling the loss of my favorite character, Veil, and I was somewhat nervous that she would leave a huge hole in the group, but who has time to worry about the missing vapor girl when all this craziness is happening?! It's honestly somewhat overdone, but by comic standards the emotion and attempts at creating depth is pretty okay. Reptil's dramatic 'if only I'd known then' soliloquy goes on a bit too long, Hazmat became too suspicious too easily, and the bit at the end about Finesse's daughter was unnecessary...

Going from ok to getting bad. And there isn't any funny. 0

This issue of Avengers Academy is a special one. Probably because we get the revelation that Stryker is gay that was announced before the issue's release and that isn't even the selling point of the issue. X-23 joining the team is the selling point but nothing substantial happens as of yet, she just meets the team and talks to them a little, we get more focus on Stryker and Julie but im not complaining im just pointing out how odd how the Marvel marketing works somehow. And as for Laura actually ...
