Avengers Academy against the big leagues!

    Avengers Academy #14

Hey everyone I'd like to start off by saying I was highly anticipating this issue because the students would be fighting the Sinister 6 and that is a big challenge. Okay so basically this whole issue revolves around the Avengers Academy fighting the Sinister 6. They were way in over their heads thinking they could handle such big league villains because they beat Korvac, although that was in their future adult forms. They could'nt handle the Sinister 6 in this issue at all. The reason Sinister 6 is causing trouble is because Doc. Oct. has been publically announced not as smart as Hank Pym so this is his way of getting revenge. The issue ends with Hank taking on all the blame for this battle and establishing stricter rules for Avengers Academy.

    The GOOD!

So the main premise of this issue was good. I thought it was cool to see this team battle the Sinister 6 and its good to see their confidence building. The battle was awesome and the fighting rocked. There were some concepts and ideas in this issue I enjoyed such as, France and other areas of the world hating Avengers Academy and viewing them as a threat. When embarking on the mission of being a hero you have to take the heat such as the public's opinion. What I also liked was Jocasta being able to view how the fight would play off before it happened although her prediction proved incorrect.

Good Art: I thought all the art inside the comic was good. It felt like classic Avengers Academy art!

    The BAD!

This issue didn't wow me at all. The fight was cool but it makes me question this series. Are these teens ever going to grow into real heroes, are the teachers really leading them the right way and actually teaching them, is each issue always gonna feel the same. My problem is that each issue feels too similar to each other.

Bad art: The cover's art was good but it's too misleading. Covers are very important to me and when a cover is misleading it bothers me a lot. Why did they only show Veil on the cover because I thought this whole issue was gonna be about Veil.

    Verdict!

I still like this series but I hope Gage makes a few changes in the write to make each issue stand out. Pick it up. 3.5 out of 5!!!

      Finally, some progress! 0

After a breather issue last time, we get a new storyline involving the Academy students, and it's great to see that they actually DO seem to have matured a little bit. And it's a doozy. While Pym and Quicksilver are handling a situation in Italy, it comes down to Tigra and the students to handle a break-in by Electro at a tech lab. Of course, as you can probably tell by the cover, Electro's not alone, nor is he the mastermind of this one. This issue is VERY action heavy, I guess to make up for t...

Heroes are made for preventing catastrophes and beating bad guys right? But since our trainees heroes in the Avengers Academy don´t do much of that, the simple task of busting Elektro seems like a golden oportunity, both for experience and showing the world that they are able to play the game, right? It would be, if the entire Sinister Six weren´t invited for the party - in another well writen and amazing issue, Gage throws our young heroes into the thraws of one of the most "beloved" Spider-Man...
