Gathering the Gems
I think the idea of bringing the Hood as a major player, after all these years that he´d caused trouble, especially to the New Avengers, is a logical thing, Bendis is trying to use the character as best as he can, but I don´t like the character at all and that balances the fact that I like the Infinity Gems and the Illuminati a lot, making this arc story interesting, not great, but not bad too, just reason enough for me to pick up this book. Other interesting feat about this issue is the reunion of all the Avengers´groups. There´re some inaccuracys in the art that just drived me crazy, like Red Hulk swimming as fast as Namor and Thor, like the Danger room program running even after Danger has become a sentient being and living in Utopia, but there are great moments in this issue, especially the search for the Gems in the wrecks of the School for Gifted Mutants and the dialogues between Tony and Steve, in an atempt of the first convincing Steve that he did what he had to do and he made the right choice about hiding the Gems. I really liked the dialogues between Xavier and the group designated to find the Gem in his posession, also enjoyed some of the action. Overall this was another poor display of art and repetition of ideas (like the Red Hulk letting he get swallowed by the sea monster just to rip it from inside out, just like in Hulk # 27). JRJR did good only in a few panels, like Tony arriving in his property to gather his Gem and some scenes in the X Mansion, but other than that, just bad art.
