    Joss Whedon's X-Men

    What I love about Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men, is that he really rolls with what Chris Claremont set up. That is, I very diverse team that is more like a family... a very, very dysfunctional family! I love the drama between the X-Men, I always have. I think that's what really set apart the Uncanny X-Men back in the day, and Joss Whedon is taking that concept and updating it for the modern audience. I haven't really read the issues after Whedon left, but I can easily recommend the first twenty five, thirty issues to anyone who wants to get back into the X-Men.

      The fall of friend, the rise of a new 'danger'. 0

      This issue starts off rather depressing with the suicide of Xaiver Institute student Wing. What happens is in Astonishing X-Men#5 gifted Wing loses his powers and becomes really down and confused about where to go next. The danger room convinces Wing that the only way to cope with the pain to take it all away by just letting go and killing himself. And basically, this whole issue revolves around that and what that means for the future of the X-Men. Besides that in this issue the X-Men also try ...
