This issue of Astonishing Tales, featuring Ka-Zar and Zabu, would be a fairly standard issue were it not for a Len Wein and Neal Adams Man-Thing story set in the middle as a flashback. the contrast in art styles between Buscema and Adams, and the fact that the flashback is done in great monochrome with lots of shading is a really nice touch that breaks up an otherwise routine story. The issue also expounds upon Man-Thing's origins. Pretty cool stuff for the time....
