Nathan and his comrade Tetherblood wet their whistle at a “milk” bar. After getting into an argument, a New Canaanite ‘Strator confronts both men and questions their allegiance to New Canaan. Meanwhile, Stryfe and Ch'Vayre head to Egypt to disrupt the tomb of En Sabah Nur. Will Stryfe regain the powers of Apocalypse, and resurrect an Age of Destruction?

Nathan has gotten sidetracked and ends up beating some officials in a milk bar. Blaquesmith finds the boy and redirects him to finding the last of the Askani. Strator Umbridge is also seeking the Askani, but to destroy them. Her undercover work with a pirate ship brings her close to Stryfe. He is trying to reanimate life; namely, the armies of Apocalypse. He also gets word that the Askani faction still exists and the leader may be able to help him to achieve his goals of domination.

    Synopsis

In a seedy milk bar, Nathan and Tetherblood have taken a detour from their Askani search to gain information on New Canaanite misdeeds. A 'Strator recognizes Nathan and a few New Canaanites attempt to arrest the boy. Nathan, however, is a telepathic projection. He is using the form to buy time while Professor calculates the risks involved with fighting the New Canaanites. Only when he has a full view of the dangers does Nathan lash out at the local authorities. Nathan takes out six assailants before being grabbed from behind. Tetherblood enters the fray and saves his friend. Once the fight is over, Blaquesmith enters and reams Nathan for ignoring the counsel to seek out the Clan Askani. He orders Nathan to travel to Ebonshire to fulfill the task.

In Egypt, a pirate ship, the Gender Splay, delivers an illegal fusion engine to a boy living in the Sphinx. 'Strator Umbridge has lied her way aboard the vessel in order to find an opportunity to learn about the Askani whereabouts. She is pleased to learn that the next adventure calls the Gender Splay to Ebonshire, the rumored home of the Askani.

The boy in the Sphinx is Stryfe. He grows impatient with Ch'Vayre and Zero in the task of raising Apocalypse's army from the dead. Stryfe is sidetracked from his endeavor when he picks up on Ch'Vayre's mutinous thoughts. Stryfe lashes out and intends to kill Ch'Vayre but learns that his power could be enhanced by a member of the Askani: Madame Sanctity. Stryfe is intrigued.

In Ebonshire, Aliya continues to watch Madame Sanctity and grows ever wary of the leader's growing madness.

Under the milk bar, Nathan and Tetherblood separate. Tetherblood is off to contact the resistance while Nathan heads to Ebonshire.
