    Biography

    Ashely wood is an Australian born artists best known for his work on law enforcer Judge Dredd. Wood was born in 1971 and at a young age was mainly influenced by Van Gough paintings, he is also a noted fan of Astro Boy and Batman comics. Wood is notorious for his cover art, concept designs and also his work as an art director.

    Wood's main source of income comes from mixed media, which is a combination of oil paintings with digital art making. His style has been noted to contain elements of expressionism.

    Ashley Wood is also an award winning illustrator, having won awards in both the U.K. and international comic book worlds (Judge Dredd). Wood eventually broke into the U.S. market and began illustrating for Marvel and DC. Wood's career continued on a solid path which lead him to creating graphic novels and cover art for the various Spawn properties of Todd McFarlane. He has more recently however been linked with IDW Publishing.

    Wood's more recent work includes that in conjunction with Konami Japan. With Japanese producter/director Hideo Kajima, they were able to create a Metal Gear Solid comic series. Wood was involved in creating one of the world's first digital comic books for PSP. He also provided photo art for the MGS games that were released on PSP.

    Wood worked closely with Rufus Dayglo and Alan Martin to illustrate a new cult comic known as Tank Girl. He was also responsible for the artwork on the cover of British rock band album In Nothing We Trust.

    In 2004 Ashley Wood and TP Loiuise formed 7174 LTD which is basically an Australian based multi-media/entertainment company. Operating from Australia on a global scale, 7174 is responsible for the distribution and sales of Ashely's artwork. 7174 has already produced succesfully selling comics such as Popbot and Lore with IDW Publishing. and is currently in Hollywood and is producing the World's Best Robots.
