The Ash Respect Thread

Hail to the King Baby!

What's not to love about Ash? He's the king of horror, master of the boomstick and chainsaw, and always gets his sugar in the end. He dukes it out with not just deadites, but everyone from Marvel Zombies, Freddy and Jason, Xena the Warrior Princes, and still has time to save Borack Obama (yes, he really does). I'm working on getting my scans organized, but I've got a pretty good start so far. Stick around, and I'll start posting videos from the movies, and videogames to add to the comic collection I have below. I also have hundreds upon hundreds more comic scans, and I'll be adding those as I continue to organize them. Enjoy!

• Groovy

Physicals / Fighting Skills

• Collection of Strength feats from Evil Dead 1 & 2
• 0:00-0:11 - Holds back a superhuman Deadite's hand. He ends up getting tossed, but this is Ash's first experience with a Deadite, so he had no idea what he was in for.
• 0:12-0:39 - Muscles his way out of the same Deadites grasp
• 0:40-2:04 - Gets stabbed, and pummeled by a Deadite, then manages to kick her across the room, and finally beat her in a test of strength to stab her and put her down with the Mandarin Dagger
• 2:05-3:53 - After being stabbed and pummeled, Ash has his shins ripped down to the muscle, and he still has the strength to beat on a deadite with a rail road tie. A typical rail road tie weighs around 200 pounds, yet Ash swings it like it weighs almost nothing. He's not simply lifting it, he's grabbing it from one end, and swinging it like it was only a twig. He then proceeds to chop off the Deadite's head with nothing but an old rusty shovel. This would require a very large amount of strength
• 3:54-4:07 - Outmuscles his way out of a Deadite's grasp
• 4:08-4:27 - Cuts off Deadite's head with nothing but an old shovel again
• 4:28-4:31 - While outrunning a Deadite, he runs clear through a door. He doesn't knock down the door, he actually busts right through the door by running through solid wood.
• 4:32-4:48 - Tackles a Deadite that he impaled with a chainsaw, and when he goes to take the chainsaw from it, he pulls hard enough to rip it's arm off at the shoulder joint. This would require a huge amount of strength, and he does this almost with ease.
• 4:49-5:25 - Stomps a Deadite head hard enough that it's eyeball flies across the room. He then holds a trap door it's trying to break out of long enough to lock it
• 5:26-6:23 - Takes on a Deadite that has shown both superhuman strength and speed with only having one hand and an axe, and he manages to speed blitz it and hack it to pieces.
• 6:24- He's strong enough to resist the pull of a portal for a very long time before it finally gets him. The portal is strong enough to rip a stove off the wall, suck a car into it, and uproot a massive tree and suck it in as well.

• Collection of Strength feats from Army of Darkness
• 0:00-0:18 - Outmuscles a Deadite in a test of strength
• 0:19-1:05 - Knocks down a Deadite with a punch, then uses his belt as a grappling tool to hook to a chain. His grip strength is incredible as he pulls himself out of the pit while a deadite is pulling him down. By the end, he's only gripping his whole body weight and the deadite's strength with just his thumb and finger on a belt.
• 1:06-1:17 - Ash's punch on Arthur sends him flying backwards
• 1:18-2:01 - Ash shows the strength to hold back a deadite force that was powerful enough to split several trees in half while chasing him
• 2:02-2:10 - Easily breaks out of the bindings holding him down
• 2:11-2:49 - Climbs his way out of a mini black hole powerful enough to stretch his body into impossibly shapes
• 2:50-2:55 - Kicks Sheila into the pit, the kick sends her flying about 20 feet backwards
• 2:55-3:07 - Takes out several Deadite Skeletons through strength, and even one via a "Break the Bat" spine break that would make Bane proud.
• 3:08-3:35 - More of a skill then strength feat, but he uses a spear against a bunch of deadness, and shows some really impressive skill
• 3:36-3:40 - Uses a judo throw to toss a deadite into Evil Ash
• 3:41-3:57 - Ash's punch is strong enough to break an armored helmet, and then cause Evil Ash's head to spin very rapidly

• Collection of Durability feats from Evil Dead 1 & 2
• 0:00-0:11 - Tanks being thrown by a superhuman Deadite into a shelf, that collapses on him.
• 0:12-1:36 - Tanks being stabbed in the arm, and pummeled into a wall, and still manages to overpower the deadite.
• 1:37-2:57 - After getting stabbed and pummeled, he has his shin torn into down to the muscle, and still manages to beat down a deadite with a railroad tile, then decapitated it with an old shovel.
• 2:58-3:36 - Ash is choked by a deadite, but stays with it long enough to fight his way out of it and put it down.
• 3:37-4:24 - Ash is continually beaten with a metal fire poker, and bitten, but still manages to have the focus to throw a chain to grab and burn the Necronomicon
• 4:25-5:17 - Ash tanks being thrown through several tree branches at an extreme speed, and finally thrown into a tree. This definitely shows his superhuman durability
• 5:18-5:43 - Ash is thrown from a high speed car, through the windshield, and into a tree. He is unfazed, and even able to outrun a high speed deadite entity immediately after.
• 5:44-6:02 - His head is slammed by a deadite into a wooden board several times, but it does no damage at all to him.
• 6:03-7:29 - His hand is bitten with a lot of force for a very long time, yet it causes no damage to his hand.
• 7:30-9:21 - His hand becomes possessed by a deadite, and it has superhuman strength (it's capable of dragging his entire body with only it's finger tips). The hand pummels his body with a vicious beating, and Ash appears to be KO'd. Ash shows that he faked actually being KO'd, and stabs his own hand to pin it down. He then endures cutting off his own hand with a chain saw, and shows his extreme amount of pain tolerance.
• 9:22-10:26 - Ash is thrown through wooden stairs, and into a stone wall by Henrietta Knowby. He has been through a severe amount of beatings by this point, but he manages to climb his way out of the cellar, and defeat Knowby. There is a video in the battles section for the full battle.
• 10:27-11:18 - Ash is sucked through a portal powerful enough to uproot trees and pull cars through, and shot out the other end from about a hundred feet up and is thrown into the ground. He gets up showing no pain immediately after.

• Collection of Durability feats from Army of Darkness
• 0:00-1:00 - Shot through a portal and out the other side from over a hundred feet in the air, and stands right back up.
• 1:01-1:38 - After falling, he is marched through the desert and whipped the entire way
• 1:39-2:10 - Immediately upon getting to town, he is hit in the head with a rock, and thrown into the pit
• 2:11-3:21 - After falling in the pit, he is punched repeatedly and stomped in the man parts, and still manages to overpower the deadite when he gets his hands on her
• 3:22-3:42 - Hits his head on a metal pipe, and his face falls on a stone oven, it's being cooked so much that it sticks to the stone and ash needs to pry it off, yet it leaves no real damage
• 3:43-4:41 - Ash is force fed a mini Evil Ash who attacks him from inside his body. Ash boils the mini clone by guzzling boiling hot water
• 4:42-5:43 - Ash is being pummeled by Evil Ash, who is superhuman in strength. Some punches are even from the steam punk gauntlet, which enhances striking power greatly, yet Ash tanks all of it like a champ.
• 5:44-6:50 - Ash is sucked into the fake necronomicon. The power of the mini black hole is so strong, that is stretches Ash's limbs and head into shapes that should kill him, yet he comes out just fine.
• 6:51-8:01 - Ash is being pummeled by Skeleton arms, and even has one shoved down his throat, but he muscles through and snaps it in half
• 8:02-8:36 - Ash leaps from his death mobile and rolls through the damage.
• 8:37-8:45 - Ash is smacked off the side of a ledge by Evil Ash, and he is fine enough to dodge a thrown sword immediately after
• 8:46-8:56 - Ash is smacked off an even taller wall, and gets up with no problem.

• Collection of Speed / Agility / and Reaction time feats from Evil Dead 1 & 2
• 0:00-0:57 - Gets in a car accident that sends him flying through the windshield, and is able to get right back up and outrun a deadite
• 0:58-1:10 - Deflects a chain saw attack from a deadite, sending the chainsaw back into the deadite
• 1:11-End of Video - Dodges two axe swings when he doesn't even see or expect them to be coming until the last moment.

• Collection of Speed / Agility / Reaction Time feats from Army of Darkness
• 0:00-2:39 - Outruns a deadite that was originally gaining on him while he was on horseback
• 2:40-3:05 - Shows some impressive athleticism with a flip and handstand when slipping on grease
• 3:06-3:10 - Dodges his own broomstick after it's fired
• 3:11-3:31 - Dodges several spear thrusts from Sheila
• 3:32-3:47 - Catches Evil Ash's sword in mid strike inches from his face
• 3:48-4:00 - Shows some impressive agility with a flip over top of Evil Ash so he can stab his back
• 4:01-4:12 - After being kicked down a dozen feet or so, he still has the reaction times to dodge a thrown sword from Evil Ash
• 4:13-4:21 - Dodges and deflects several attacks from Evil Ash
• 4:22-4:50 - Dodges several attacks from Evil Ash, including several while hanging off a ledge, he then catches his sword in mid-strike again

• Tanks a superhuman throw from a deadite into the wall. Also shows how even a below average human, becomes superhuman while possessed by a deadite.

• Tanks another superhuman blow from another deadite.

• Tanks a fall from about a hundred feet in the air and gets up with hardly any problem.

• Scan 1 - Ducks under a huge caliber shell fired from Jimbo after it's fired
• Scan 2 - Dives out of the way of more Jimbo fire, sees high speed circular saw blades fired at his head
• Scan 3 - After seeing blades in mid-flight, he has the speed and strength to grab and spin Linda to use as a Deadite shield to protect himself.

• 0:40-1:20 - Ash shows off some enhanced senses, as he snipes his own possessed hand that is crawling inside of a wall. He doesn't use sight to aim, but the sound of the hand scurrying inside the wall.
• 1:21-1:39 - Completely demolishes Henrietta Knowby's head from close range
• 1:40-2:10 - Headshot on a flying deadite explodes it's head.

• Collection of Boomstick feats from Army of Darkness
• 0:00-0:25 - Snipes Arthur's sword, and splits it in half
• 1:10-1:40 - Snipes a chain holding a Deadite upright, then snipes the Deadite itself. The blast is powerful enough to cause the Deadite to fly backwards doing backflips, even though the shot was from long range.
• 1:41-2:16 - Shoots a cauldron out of a She-B*tches hands. Shows off some impressive skill while filling her full of buckshot, finishes her off with his signature over the shoulder shot.
• 2:17-2:36 - Shows the shear power of his Boomstick as he unloads into Evil Ash at close range. The shot is so powerful that it sends him flying about fifteen feet into a tree.
• 2:37-2:41 - Blasts a Deadite trying to stop Ash's death-mobile.

• Shoots a sword with perfect accuracy from a decent range.
• His boomstick is powerful enough to shatter it to pieces

• Uses perfect accuracy to fire over the knights shoulder without hitting him to kill the she-b*tch.
• It's powerful enough to make her head explode.

• Ash one shots Evil Ash with the boomstick.

• Uses the boomstick to make quick work of a she-b*tch deadite.

• Catches a deadite infested rabbit, and throws it in the air.
• Ash uses perfect accuracy and shoots it out of the sky.

Gauntlet Hand

• 0:00-0:43 - Groovy showing of how he quickly creates his new hand, and demonstrates by crushing a metal goblet like it's a dixie cup
• 0:44-1:00 - Grabs Evil Ash's sword in mid-strike inches from his face
• 1:01-1:10 - Grabs Evil Ash's sword a second time in mid-strike

• Ash's gaunlet has superhuman strength as he crushes a metal goblet like it's paper.

• Ash's gauntlet punch hit's Evil Ash so hard that his head literally spins.

• The gauntlet can be used as a projectile, and is a makeshift grappling hook.

• Using his projectile hand as a surprise weapon.
• Ash has the skill to hit his target and have it return to place on the rebound (kind of like Cap's shield)

• For a short time, Ash's gauntlet was upgraded with Explosive Shells Launchers, High Powered Lasers, Flame Throwers, Force Projectors, and....a Nuclear Powered Nose Hair Trimmer

Engineering / Tech / Ingenuity

• Creates a harness, chain saw hand replacement, and a sawed off boomstick in almost no time at all with nothing but junk tools and equipment in an old tool shed.

• Prep and Tactics during the battle with the Army of Darkness

• Ash creates a fully functional medieval gauntlet in almost no time at all to replace his amputated hand.

• It took Ash only a few hours to engineer his car into a steampunk war machine.

Necronomicon Abilities

Portals

• The necronomican can be used to create portals between time, space, and alternate dimensions.

• These portals can be used to BFR opponents as it sucks everything in it's vicinity into it.

• Ash uses the Necronomicon to travel to an alternate timeline where the deadites took over the world, and then closes the book to come back to his original reality.

• Ash uses the necronomicon to teleport an entire army.

Duplicating

• The Necronomicon can create evil duplicates from any mirrored surface.

• If a dupe can be inerted into a person's body, it can create a full grown evil dupe.

Resurrecting

• Evil Ash is resurrected as an even more powerful Deadite.

• The necronomicon raises an army of skeletal deadites.

Possession

• A living person can be possessed and turned into a Deadite.

• Possession can happen as a whole, or even just individual body parts, like Ash's hand. The only way to stop this possession is to cut off the possessed body part, like Ash does here with his chainsaw.

• Cutting off the limb doesn't mean it's dead...

• Possession is not limited to humans. It can possess all forms of wildlife.

So who wants some?

Good old Ash. IIRC the Necronomicon has the ability to give him infinite powers when properly reciting the right incantations. In the games, he could posses the possessed, double in size, control the weather, etc. Overall, the guy has the potential to become a mortal God with the book. Unfortunately it has cost him all of his loved ones.

Yes, Marvel Zombies is actually in between two arcs of Army of Darkness from Dynamite, and directly related to the ongoing series of that time. It's canon to both the universes actually.

@tparks: Great thread man. I have a few questions for you though; have you read the Evil Dead comics? If so, could you give me some info about the Necronomicon and its potency? A friend of mine is under the impression that Ash + Necron = nigh-omnipotent and I'm just not buying that. Is he right? What is the total output of that book and what tier would you most accurately place Ash in with it in his possession (EX. planetary, star, galaxy, etc.)?

@tremble_in_fear: Never noticed this comment, sorry. I understand the argument that he could be omnipotent with it, since he once used his blood to write a new page in the book, basically re-writing reality itself. That was by far the most powerful thing he's ever done with it. For the most part though, the necronomicon abilities he has comes from the video games, where he can increase his strength, or cast lightning bolts. I would have a hard time calling him omnipotent based on one feat alone. Usually the Necronomicon has it's own agenda, and Ash just gets caught up in it. He is able to capitalize on some of the plot events that happen with it, but usually he just wants the book to shut up and leave him alone. Lol.
