Wolverine and the X-Men Complete Series Information

Soon you'll be able to own the complete series.

      
      
One piece of news that I heard during San Diego Comic-Con was the upcoming release of Wolverine and the X-Men.  
 
While there have been DVD releases for the show, on October 12, 2010 we can get the entire 26 episode series in a single complete set. The release will have over ten hours of content from the show. What makes this news really cool is the series will also be released in High Definition on a three-disc Blu-ray set.  
 
Bonus features will include audio commentary from those working on the show along with two unique show featurettes. The release will retail for $29.98 (DVD) and $44.99 (Blu-ray). Of course that means you'll be able to find it cheaper where you might normally purchase your DVDs and Blu-rays.  
 
It's a bummer that the show is completely over but at least now we can watch those episodes again in High Definition. And as Chris Yost mentioned in our interview, there's bound to be another X-Men cartoon in the future.

Seems cool, but is anyone else troubled by how short the air times are for shows before they are pulled?  Wolverine and the X Men gone.  Batman:  Brave and the Bold gone.  Sheesh.

This show was never really that good i think, sad to see it go, but hopefully it means that we will get a new X-MEN show after the new Spider-Man cartoon airs.

I am bummed that Spectacular Spider-Man had to end things the way they did,
Gwen stuck with Harry, who sinisterly is keeping her from breaking up with him, Norman still alive in Europe, Peter alone and sad.
How did X-Men leave things?  Jean ever found?  Hellfire Club or something, I lost track of the last few episodes.
 
Will those special features be on the regular DVDs?  Or just Blue Ray?

I'm assuming this show ended since it was produced by another company. Brave and the Bold lasted three-ish seasons. A new Batman series (along with Young Justice) is coming.

Brave and the Bold?  What?
I thought they advertised Batmite and Harley at the con for an upcoming episode.
Aw man.  I am now apprehensive about the new Batman.

same wit spiderman dat was a great show i know ulimate is startin so dat could be as good hopefully we'll see a few seasons of that

Why do they do this kind of stuff? They take away the good series and leave us with the dumb one's. I really wanted to see more out of the show especially when you have an ending that you know is leading to something and they cancel the show

man that sucks...Every time I get into one of these new cartoons they cancel it... Age of Apocalypse, Colossus, Havok all  were "much ado about nothing."
 
Venture Bros is gonna be canceled soon I have a gut feeling...

I want to see a new cartoon based on the Avengers as fetuses.  because aparantly the only way for comic book cartoons to last is to make them all kiddies.

@Edamame: shit man i would but im already way to deep into collecting marvel universe (toy line) stuff  if the design was the same i would of been all on it but the figures look  just like the cartoon and wouldnt blend into my current collection =0(  as for the DVD im so getting it! best x-men cartoon ever i think only thing thats better was pyrde of the x-men which was a pilot in the 80s

Biggest problem with Wolverine and the X-Men is that they aired it everywhere in the world before it ever had a chance to air in the United States. I had seen half of the season for the show online on youtube before the first episode ever aired. I think if they would have just aired it in the states, as well as internationally, they would have had the numbers to continue. But instead they freaked out because the funding wasn't there.  
 
It's hard to fund something when the country of origin for a cartoon is barely aware of its existance.  
 
Also to put it on Nicktoons instead of like a major network, didn't help either. (although this doesn't quite explain why Iron Man; Armoned Adventures survived)
 
Poor choices marvel. Hopefully a new series will come out, but don't wait to show it in the states, just air like everyone else.

I wasn't much of a fan of The Brave and the Bold but I thought it would last... I really wanted to watch this Xmen series but I didn't have Nicktoons. So I finally get my chance...

im still waiting for Spetacular Spiderman Season 2 to come out man that was a great show  
 
wolverine was a good show not as good as SS but still better then a lot of crap on Nicktoons

I get why they are making a new Spider-Man, to go with the new movie.  Spectacular sort of went with the old movies, sort of.
But why a new Batman?  Its not like it was doing poorly or people didn't like it.  It was a success and people liked it, so why cancel it to start a new one?
 
When is that Avengers cartoon coming out?  At the same time as the movie?

I really loved this series and was upset when it was cancelled. They had a ton of potential but didn't make it happen which is weird when so many other cartoons have multiple seasons. It sounded like there was an issue with money which caused it to shut down production.

This series was amazing... it really is a shame it was canceled just as much a disappointment as the Spectacular Spider-Man TV show... (I never saw Brave and the Bold so I can't vouch for it)...
 
Oh well if there is another X-Men cartoon let's hope it's just as good as this one... or even better!

I hope they bring this set out in the UK too.  I really liked this series, it helped pull me back into reading comics.  I'm really sad that it only lasted a season, and it makes me even more sad to know that Kyle & Yost were planning an epic second season.

It was a good show. Maybe it focused a bit too much on Wolverine but it was good. Too bad it's not getting a second season.

Jean gains her memories back and rejoins the X-Men and it sets up for the AOA age and other more great things.

I thought the Disney buying Marvel would give Marvel a lot of money. So putting money up as a reason that Marvel is not going to be bringing back Wolverine and the X-Men does not pass the smell test for me. If they really wanted to they could have found a way to make it work.  
 
Wolverine and the X-Men had the best writing and integration into the Marvel Universe (especially the X-Universe) than other cartoon Marvel has ever made. They brought characters in as needed and the whole overriding season story arc (trying to prevent a Days of Future Past type of world) really worked well. The really cool thing is here and there they were able to drop a fairly quiet episode featuring Polaris in the future, or Scott dealing with the loss of Jean. 
 
Both Spectacular Spider-Man and Wolverine and The X-Men. Were able to really capture the essence of the characters they featured. But it appears Marvel these days like doing things on the cheap, so I have very little faith that the X-Men anime is going to be worth anything. Likewise with Ultimate Spiderman.
