Aww, I enjoyed Superior it was the first Spidey book I read in ages because it was different.

Still what is going to happen to Anna, she is going to have her heart broken. What will happen to ParkCorp (I mean Parker Industries)

Is Amazing Spider-Man 2 coming out this year? Then Yes, Parker is coming back.

Peter's back - back to boring same old, same old then.

We need a darker/funnier write for spider-man, the DocOck/Spiderman could go on, but with a different angle.

I miss reading spider-man... Ah The Gauntlet... New ways to die...

I think that's a really big "I'M BAAAACK!" from Peter if I ever saw one.

Same old formula again it seems, should have seen it coming. How unfortunate, but I did happen to know Peter wasn't dead for you see he never died to begin with, there was no brain switch, no soul switch, not even a combining of the minds, simply Peter Parker thinking he was Otto Octavius. Same with the old dying body, there was no 'Peter Parker' so to speak within it, only Otto believing he was Peter Parker. So everyone saying that Otto 'killed' Peter during 700 cannot be more wrong, Peter in fact killed Otto. All that merely occurred was being influenced by memories, thinking they are yours, it is actually very simple.

Granted it was obviously in the works for some time BUT FINALLY MY FAVOURITE MARVEL SUPERHERO IS BACK AND IS EXACTLY WHERE HE BELONGS AGAIN! :D

Now I shall dance to celebrate this return of the true and only Spider-Man!

(ahem) Sorry got carried away there. Now for the bad news. Even if Peter Parker is back, even if Slott promises to ignore and cast aside everything that has made Superior Spider-Man a desecration of Spider-Man's rich history, even if he promises to show why Peter is the real, fan favourite and beloved Spider-Man, I won't be buying this new series. Why? Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos is why. Slott has utterly lost my trust even before Superior started with his decreasingly shallow and vapid storytelling that has lost a lot of its initial charm by Ends of The Earth. And after the disrespectful nightmare that was Superior Spider-Man, Slott merely solidified my unwillingness to buy anything with his name on it ever again. That includes his new Silver Surfer series which I was really looking forward too. And Humberto Ramos is an artist whose style I really don't like reading. It's scawny, scratchy and at times damn near unclear at all. So it is with a heavy heart that I resign myself to yet another Spider-Man series I must go without. But what if Yost writes a Spider-Man team up series? Praise The One Above All if that happens! :D

I want to believe this is a light at the end of the very dark tunnel but for all I know it could be an incoming train so I'm not going to get my hopes up just yet.

I'm glad that Pete is coming back but I'm a little nervous at the same time. Doc Ock has pretty much single handedly been tearing Pete's life apart (breaking up with MJ, getting Horizon Industries shut down, getting into fights with his aunt, getting the Avengers to stop trusting him, and we all know that Parker Industries won't last). And in the past we've seen Pete have his life torn down and have to build it back up before, but it was all due to stuff he had done, stuff that was his fault. Honestly it's going to feel weird to me if he has to build his life back up and when none of it was his fault but he still has to act like it was. I mean having to act like it was him doing all that for his aunt, sure, I understand that. But if he doesn't just straight up tell Captain America "Yeah that was Doc Ock," and they don't believe him immediately then it's just going to feel weird to me.

Also what Slott did to Spider-Man was huge, and I know he loves writing the character, but this would have been the perfect spot for him to leave the book and let some fresh blood come aboard. Then again maybe that's just me.

Sigh, I guess it was inevitable with the movie's release and Marvel's tendency to mirror that universe. It sucks for me as I was really enjoying Spock. I've been reading Spidey for decades and it's the first time (besides Ben Reilly era somewhat) that it's really been fresh and interesting, you don't really know how he's going to react to situations or whats going to happen, which makes it so much more exciting. You know it's going to be back to the same old storylines anytime now, which some people have been whining and clamoring for the whole time.

I only hope they somehow keep Spock around somehow.

I never said it was likely, just that it could be possible - then given that possibility, 5 spiders in the same universe is pretty insane.

I am just too happy with this news! Ecstatic! I was absolutely devastated and heart-broken when I finished reading ASM #700; I didn't see the ending coming at all, cause the idea of someone else being Spider-Man was just unfathomable for me. I felt so empty inside. It was a horrible, horrible Christmas morning...

I have missed Peter so much and I'm just so happy he's finally returning! I know it's too soon and I would prefer it if it were an ongoing series of "untold stories" instead so that we could have more of Ock's adventures in Superior Spider-Man cause it's been just great and there's so much potential... But, there's just nobody else quite like Peter Parker who deserves the name of Spider-Man. Well, there's Miles Morales, but he's on another Earth and you get what I mean. The name of Spider-Man and Peter Parker to be more specific then.

THOUGH, if he does really return (and the way Peter is in the image gives off an "I'm back!" vibe so it's quite likely...) then I would at least hope for a new suit... I LOVE the classic suit, but... The new suit is just way too cool! Plus, it's been 50 years and he's been wearing the same thing. Then again, Superman...

See, we all expected Peters return at some point, but for me his return feels cheapened as its obviously a stunt for the upcoming spiderman film. I love peter parker as a character and his ensemble cast but I have really enjoyed Ock as spidey for what he has achieved and represents, i have became invested in this character. I would have liked at least one more year with Superior Spiderman.

Im still really happy slott and ramos are sticking around, one of my favorite teams in marvel by far.

Why would you want something horribly contrived and poorly written like Superior to continue? Let alone Slott's half arsed, overdone mind wipe of SpOck replacing Peter? This stupid Superior arc has gone on for more than long enough and although Slott is still writing, we're at least moving forward by bringing the real Spider-Man back again. This is what Marvel has been needing to do for over a year now.

I hadn't been reading ASM since my teens (i'm now 36) but I heard the buzz about the last issues and i when I read #700 it BLEW MY MIND. I didn't have any emotional baggage attached to Peter Parker and I just loved the possibilities of a SUPERIOR spider-man. I've been looking forward to each issue as they come out. Superior Spiderman is a character I love to hate. It makes my blood boil to see how prideful and egotistical he gets. "Pride goeth before a fall" as they say, and each issue has been building and building up the tension. I find myself thinking after each issue "This can't go on much longer" - SpOck is doomed to fail due to his pride. I'll miss Superior but true SUPERIORITY is found in humility - therefore Peter Parker, the Amazing Spiderman is the true Superior Spiderman....

But I do hope they resolve the SpOck situation in a sensible way, not a Deus ex Machina way...

I feel like in order for Peter to make his life somewhat normal again after coming back, he's going to have to reveal his secret identity to a few people (Anna Maria, for example) and somehow prove it was Ock who was inside his body...I don't really know how that's going to work. Could this be another OMD type thing? Will Mephisto show up again and cause another retcon? I'm really interested in how the 1st few issues of the new relaunch will play out, with Pete trying to basically fix his life. I just hope that eventually Pete and MJ get back together...

................this reminds me of when they brought Steven Rogers back as Captain America in time for the film. Wish the movies didn't seem to dictate the comics so much as they do but it is what it is I guess :/

Exactly my problem with this 'Superior' gimmick.

True fans of Peter Parker are screwed: If we all rush out and buy this (especially since Slott is still on the title...unfortunately), then Marvel will hail him as a 'genius' and let him do whatever he wants from now on. If we refuse to buy it, then he'll bring SpOck back in some stupid way and put more interesting characters on a bus so we get to listen to Otto rant about how 'superior' he is for 24 pages, forever.

I'm also at a loss for why anybody thinks that the movie has anything to do with Peter's return. You're telling me that somebody is gonna go to the theater, decide they're interested in some Spider-Man comics, go to their local shop, ask for suggestions, hear some employee point out that Peter Parker's body is temporarily occupied by somebody else, and then decide "You know what? I'm not interested anymore. Comic books aren't for me. I was interested enough to come in here, but Spider-Man is technically not Peter Parker for a little while, so there's no way I'm picking up a Spidey comic, or even a tpb or two"?

@daltonmunnal: It may sound stupid but it's totally how business works. The month ASM (movie) came out, the comic book featured the Lizard. Hardly a coincidence. And for new readers, not familiar with the industry (which is arguably the portion of readers Marvel cares the most about) they're not making an habit out of consciously selecting books, TPBs, etc.

Yep it looks like it's the end of Superior Spidey. All us sane people knew it couldn't last forever but man what a crazy ride that series has been. That book may be one of my all time favorite anti villain comics. It had a nice horror tone to it which I really don't get enough out of a lot of my Marvel books. Sort of reminded me of the manga series Monster where the villain was absolutely evil but infallible to the law. Some of Spidey's villains are at their coolest when they're Lawful Evil. That series brought me back to remembering all the awesome infighting within Spidey's rogues gallery. It's all been like a grand tournament for those villains with Octavius currently at the top of the food chain (or is he?!). No matter who wins we lose. I'm loving it.

I feel like this can be explained away by whatever happens post Cataclysm. There's so much broken reality in Marvel right now it would be easy to reset Peter's mind back to normal. Julia Carpenter's premonition still sticks in my mind. I'd probably interested in reading it if it deals with a lot of the consequences of Superior. Maybe Otto will transfer his memories to the Living Brain automaton. I probably won't read much of Amazing beyond that since I'm still just fundamentally bored with Peter Parker's fighting style. Welcome back Pete and good luck sorting out this mess.
