The numbers are in for the midnight showing. "Watchmen" did an estimated 4.6 million in that one showing. "Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun Li" did 4.7 in the entire opening weekend. That's kind of sad but to be expected.
It should be interesting to see how "Watchmen" will do this weekend. I've already reported that it has the biggest theater count for an R-rated movie. "300" made $70.9 million in its first weekend back in March 2006. You'd think that "Watchmen" should have no problem beating that. We'll find out on Monday.
