Walking Dead Artist Draws a Movie Poster

If only humanity was stuck in one giant mall...

I'm a pretty big Romero zombie fan. The first VHS my grandparents bought me was the original Night of the Living Dead. My first tattoo was a zombie based off of a scene in Dawn of the Dead. The first comic I tried to write was called "Infection," and it too was about zombies. I love zombies, but only when they're done right, and Walking Dead and Romero (mainly his older works) are the only two things that seem to get it right for me anymore.  Now, my favorite two things about zombies are coming together.

MTV exclusively reported that Walking Dead artist Charlie Adlard drew up the poster for George A. Romero's 6th zombie film Survival of the Dead. The film takes place right after Romero's last zombie flick, Diary of the Dead, and it is about two families (The O'Flynn's and the Muldoons) living in the zombified world. The Muldoons want to keep zombies alive in hopes they can someday find a cure for the zombie disease, while the O'Flynn's want to kill the zombies on site in order for what's left of the human race to survive.

As the battle between humans and zombies escalates, the master filmmaker [George Romero] continues to reinvent the modern horror genre with wicked humor and pointed social commentary.

George A Romero is known for his zombie films: Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Land of the Dead, and Diary of the Dead. He essentially defined what we know as the modern day zombie film, and even the world of Walking Dead. Having Charlie Adlard do the poster for this film just makes sense to me, since The Walking Dead is essentially the only worthwhile comic involving zombies at this exact moment.

The combination of these two fits incredibly well in my opinion. As the poster says, the film Survival of the Dead is on video on demand, Xbox live, Playstation, Amazon and Vudu and in theaters May 28th.

What do you think of the poster? Is this something you'd like to see?
