UNBELIEVABLE GWENPOOL Series Announced for April

100% not surprised that this is a thing. Marvel is more gimmicky than ever nowadays. Interesting enough concept, though, and I enjoyed the art in the Holiday special. Might check it out.

Man I should have put some money on this because I knew they'd probably make a series for the character.

The concept is sorta cool, but you could've just done it with deadpool or an original character instead of this gimmick.

Interesting idea for a character. Wonder if she'll break the fourth wall like Deadpool, probably, as it 'd make sense if she thinks it's a dream or something.

This girl literally breaks trough fourth wall from other side. From outside. So techincally she is kinda Reverse Deadpool.

Its early days, but this could end up being more about Marvel trying to get some of the old Harley Quinn market to be honest.

It's a somewhat interesting concept, i'm not gonna lie, but I honestly doubt that people demanded this.

Can we stop 'demanding' things? Please? ._. I'm literally behind two weeks worth of comics because i can't buy them all because so many freaking series are coming out. Just gimme some air, Marvel. PLEASE. BECAUSE I DEMANDED IT PLEAASE.

You dont have to question the necessary of her series. If you don't like it, dont buying it. I for one enjpyed her part of the christmas special and will check this out.

And Thank god she isn't another gwen stacy. Gwenpool is awesome, but one is enough.

She is much more likable then Spider-Gwen. Gwenpool reminds me a lot of the pre new 52 Harley Quinn so I will pick up her series for a bit.

I'm a DC fan, so I have my own set of stuff to complain about, but I still have to say this seems like it came from out of left field.

Why?

At first I thought it was just Gwen Stacy but now that it's technically a new character then I'm willing to give it a try. Just because it's gimmicky doesn't mean it can't be good or fun. If you're interest give it a try, if it doesn't appeal to you then leave it. If no one really buys it, it'll go away on its own, so it's not really a big deal. Also Chris Hastings is a solid writer so it'll be fine most likely.

I'm not sure who keeps investing in Marvel's gimmicks, but please stop. It's getting old, really fast. The Death of Gwen Stacy was a vintage and defining story arc for the Spider-Man franchise, and her character needs to stop being plastered everywhere for a quick cash-grab. I'm cool with Ultimate Gwen Stacy but that's because she has an actual purpose, as opposed to these alternative versions.

good continue to make this character popular..... I have 3 extra issues of her first appearance sitting on my comic table. hopefully she gets super hot likeSpiderGwen did.

To be quite honest me personally I don't see what all the fuss is about her, she's another gimmicky character based off one of marvel's current Headlining super stars. i'll give her first issue a try, I really don't think this will do anything for me though....

Unbelievable. The worst part about this is that the premise sounds really cool I would be all over this book if the main character wasn't Gwen Stacey crossed with Deadpool. Hell if they had just come up with a new Lady Deadpool with the same costume and backstory I would be all over this but its the fact that they are milking the random success of Spider-Gwen for all that its worth that really puts me off.

id rather have a scarlet spider (kaine) series....if you know what i mean

I wonder who's next to get their own female counterpart. So far it's Thor, Wolverine, Hawkeye, Spiderman, Star Lord and Deadpool if i recall correctly. Maybe Dr Strange because he's about to become a whole lot more popular with the new movie coming out and if they can make Star Lord into an uninteresting female variation of his character in the height of his popularity then I'm sure they can do it to Strange.

A gimmick combined with a story is LITERALLY EVERY COMIC EVER MADE no matter how good or how shitty it is. Retired Bruce Wayne donning the mantle again was a gimmick, Jean grey dying was a gimmick, Barbara Gordon getting paralyzed was a gimmick Spiderman making a deal with the devil was a gimmick. Gimmicky is just the blanket term long time entitled comic fans are using because publishers decided to branch out and not just focus on the hetero white male demographic anymore. Is it so wrong to make a spinoff of something popular? Cause that's how we got Deadpool, Thanos, Marvel Zombies, secret wars, the MCU, the Robins, the GL corps, Flash, Arrow, Shazaam, wally west. Is a female gwen deadpool and more gimmicky than a child version of the flash or a murdering, thomas wayne batman. Its the same thing that's gone on in comics since they were created but now they are appealing to more than one market.

Finally one step closer to what I've dreamed about for decades. An entire universe inhabited by Gwens. A "Gweniverse".

So can someone tell me when the iron-Gwen, captian amerigwen, ant-gwen series are coming out.

Well I like the idea of someone from "our reality" being in a comic book world, but I don't like the rest. I would've preferred a totally new character not tied to Gwen or Deadpool.
