Top Selling Comics of August 2015

Man it really seems like Convergence caused DC to lose a chunk of its readership, and many haven't returned to the company since (despite some really good books being put out).

Not one book that I read is in the top ten list.

Yeah. It sucks. Convergence was simply terrible, but there's a lot of stuff at DC I currently love, like OMEGA MEN, and I wish people would give some of these books another shot.

Only 2 DC Comics in the Top 10 sold comics, they can't keep relying on Batman and Justice League to dig them out of their financial woes. These monthly sales are turning into more salt to be rubbed on that $2 million profit loss DC suffered

Nice to see Squirrel Girl getting some love in the trades. The art can be a turnoff at times but overall it's a very fun series that I think more people should read.

DC is one of the worst companies in America

So except for Batman/Justice League friggen Lando!!! beat Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Harley and every other DC book out there in sales.

@lvenger: Eh they have Batman and Robin Eternal starting next month which will do quite well and a also Superman American Alien and Lois and Clark which can do well but marketing so far has been terrible for them. They really need to put better and well known creative teams on WW, GL, Flash and Superman titles but their mindset is get cheaper creative teams and hope that titles sell. And current PR team needs to get fired.

Marvel/DC numbers would be a lot more even if you take away Star Wars titles.

Not for a while in secret wars case and Star Wars is a giant, wait till the force awakens comes out I am sure even more fantastic books by Marvel will hit shelves detailing backstories or past events.

Sad to see the Marvel God eating everything, and a little surprised that the only comics recognized on DC is Batman (great run) and Justice League, surely they have other popular titles.

DC is putting themselves on the right track. But it will take time for them to see their sales start to go back up. Improvements like that take time and don't just happen over night. With the new talent they're bringing in and the new titles and opportunities they're allowing for some of the less popular characters, I feel like we'll be seeing a huge improvement over time.

@ultimatepower6: Well just because a book isn't in the top 10 (an arbitrary cut off point), it doesn't mean it's not popular or profitable/safe.

Here's an analysis I did as of June for Star Wars sales at Marvel. I'll update it again after the 3rd quarter numbers are released.

Once again Marvel utterly trounces DC, and I cant help but laugh at all the insecure DC fanboys that say nothing on Marvel's side counts for anything, if you want DC to get more sales you should try buying more series from them, whining about Marvel isnt gunna change anything.

I've said it before and I'll probably keep saying it but every time the sales numbers get posted this site turns into a pissing contest between Marvel and DC fanboys. Like what you like and stop being dicks about it.

Honestly I would like to see Marvel's sales without Star Wars and Secret Wars. Would have been Batman, JL and Walking dead at the top. Convergence was written pretty well. Didn't read all the tie ins but it was all rushed and DC could have done more. The sales will pick up once DC settles in down in california. The sales will be even higher after suicide squad and Batman vs Superman. DC does knows how to plan really well. I still would like to see other comic companies on top as well.

Go Marvel and Image! Maybe DC's sales will pick up when they get rid of Bob Harris and people like that the quality of the books will go up, and maybe sells too.
