Will you be watching?
We have seen everything from comic books, to board games, to Marge's 'Playboy' cover. There is no question that ' The Simpsons' have, over the course of the last 20 years, become a staple of American pop culture. While I will say that it has been a long time since I watched the series, I can remember a time when the show was at the height of it's success back in the 90's. However, even though the series changed the way we watch television, I do feel that it has run it's 20 year course. I think that 'The Simpsons' have certainly changed the way we watch cartoons on prime-time television, but now might be a good time to pull the plug. The show's creator, however, does not agree with me. In fact, he jokes that he could see another 20 years of 'The Simpsons!'
Groening will be celebrating the 'Simpsons' legacy with 'The Simpsons' 450th episode which will premiere on FOX this Sunday, January 10th 2010. Will you be watching it? Are you tired of 'The Simpsons'?"I think we could do it for another 20 years, actually," Matt Groening told the Associated Press at a recent "Simpsons" tribute by Los Angeles' Paley Center for Media. Then he dissolved into giggles.
