The Birds Of Prey Are Returning

Have you been waiting for the series to return?

DC's The Source has announced that the Birds Of Prey are returning!  When is the series coming back?  This April.  The series will be written by none other than Gail Simone who will be joined by artist Ed Benes.  You might remember the work they did on the previous Birds Of Prey series.

Will you be adding this book to your pull list?  Also in April, DC will be releasing Brightest Day titles along with The Flash and the Justice League, Generation Lost titles.  Start saving your money.  Are you happy to see the Birds of Prey return?  How do you feel about the series being canceled and now returning?  Do you think they should continue as issue #128 or start over with a new #1?

yes this made my day,one of the first book i pick when i return to the comic world 5 years ago i love it,but why did they cancel to begin.i guess they are starting at 1 again.well im just happy to see my girls back in action,and gail simone my fav.thanks dc finally doing something right.

@Scottyb: I was thinking that as well. but y'know Batwoman doesn't have big ears or maybe that's my wishful thinking. Plus Scarlett's cape doesn't flow that way. Then again, this is Benes.

I think it's Hawk and Dove. Scarlet doesn't have a pony tale and the cape reminds me of Dove's. The guy doesn't exactly look like Hawk, so maybe he's out of the picture. Overall, not excited, this is indefinitely going to hurt Batgirl's sales(my second favorite new Batbook). Not to mention that I hate Lady Blackhawk, Black Canary, and Batwoman.

Well, with Gail Simone attached to the project. This should be interesting. She really seems to 'get' how to write female characters well. I remember she wrote a really good animated short for the Tomb Raider Re/visioned series. If they had made that into a regular show I would of watched it.
 
Do they really need a shadow to hide the fact that is Stephanie Brown back there?

Unless Steph is getting yet another new costume and has shrunk, I doubt it is her.

I use to feel the same way until I read the arc in which Lady Shiva switches lives with Black Canary and the two of them form a weird friendship. The DCU female street level/martial arts characters are my fav.

Well, how many characters in the DC Universe have the Bat-fringed capes and are female right now?
 
There also appears to be a second shadow below her of someone I can't identify. There aren't enough features to distinguish. Though, it looks more masculine.

hmm sounds interesting, but i just cant see that changing my mind ;p im as stubborn on this as you are on Steph ;p

agreed, if not steph then who? the hair says not Cassie unless she has changed her look, could be batwoman but i dont see it. we shall see i guess.

Also the fact that Oracle is involved speaks to Stephanie. Seeing how Barbara is over seeing Stephanie's progression as Batgirl. Would seem odd to have Barbara and not Stephanie.
 
Perhaps Stephanie can use this as a growing experience to learn from other super heroines.

This reunion makes me a little nervous. On one hand it's always great to see certain characters together and written by a specific writer. But is this going back just to go back Titans reunited the eighties team everyone loved but soon they started to hate it and hopefully that won't be the same thing here.

Cool... When I started to look for a DC title to read, I wanted to read Birds of Prey, but when I was going to buy it the cover said.... "Last Issue"
