This used to be a VIDEO FEATURE for over one hundred episodes. We've changed the format to a text version as most seem to prefer it this way. And don't forget to take the poll at the end.
Each week we take a look at the other Best Stuff you might have missed....
Best Formal Conversation in a Skeezy Place
Best “Boop” on the Nose Moment
The point of this little trip to Madripoor was part of a lesson. In kickstarting the lesson for Jean, Emma gives her a little 'boop' on the nose. You have to admit it's kind of cute. *Boop*
Best Way to Name Ninja Soldiers
Ninjak is a character that's been around since the early 90s. I always called him Ninja-K. It seems like it should be Nin-Jack. We find out in this first issue of the new series, there were other Ninja warriors and they were named by simply using letters in the alphabet. What better way to name them?
Best Use of a Healing Factor to Escape Being Chained
Deadpool kind of found himself in a sticky situation. What can you do when you end up getting chained with seemingly no way out? If you have a healing factor like Deadpool, all you have to do is start chomping.
It gets pretty gross.
Best Heroic Pose After a Battle
Bizarro is the best, right? But in Bizarro-speak, does that really mean he's the worst? So if this is the Best Heroic Pose, are we really saying it's the worst? Oh man.
Best Way to Get Rid of a Beard
Superman has a beard in ACTION COMICS. He has for a few issues now. It's pretty cool but a little weird since he doesn't have on in the other comics he appears in. While in a fight on Bizarro World, he ends up losing it. Guess that solves any continuity problems.
There's kind of a sad moment in this month's issue of THOR. Odinson visits Jane Foster, who isn't doing too well, health-wise. We do get to see a nice moment as they share a hug. She also has a pretty good nickname for him as she doesn't approve of him going by Odinson.
Best Bulletproof Moment
Later we see that other person going by the name of THOR getting shot at (Odinson did give his approval in her using it). With the power of Thor, she's bulletproof. It turns out getting shot at tickles a little.
Best Reading Material for a Super Secret Lair
Everyone needs a place to keep their stuff. We see some pretty classy reading material sitting up on the shelf.
In case you can't really see it, let's zoom in.
Looks like he's reading some Usagi Yojimbo.
Best Use of an Ad Before a Movie
Does your local theater have ads before the movie starts on the big screen? You have to wonder if those actually work. It turns out it does work for Howard the Duck (although even he was a little excited. In the issue, we get to see what his ad was like.
Best Jean Grey Death Homage
Remember at the end of the Dark Phoenix Saga when Jean Grey (or maybe we should say the Phoenix Force) sacrificed herself to prevent the worry of the Dark Phoenix destroying everything and the X-Men were fighting for her as the Shi'ar Empire determined she was too dangerous to live? Well, we see something similar happen to Howard. Although it wasn't his choice.
What? Is this the end of Howard already? It was just his first issue! You'll have to read it to find out. We'd tell ya but we're out of time for this week.
That's it this week. Let us know in the comments below what other Best Stuff you dug this past week. Thanks to @djfanco, @Kayne_Martin, @simonsezstuff, @tweetdotwilson and Gregg Katzman. If you want to participate or felt we missed some other Best Stuff, you can @reply me on Twitter at@GManFromHeck by Fridays using the hashtag #BestStuffInComics. We'll give you a shout out and I'll think you're pretty groovy.
Be sure to always look for the best stuff and always be sure to use a razor to remove any extra body or facial hair instead of having it magically torn off.
