The Best Stuff In Comics: 10-26-15

This is where we present to you, the other best stuff besides the best covers, best story arcs, and best beach umbrella.

Each week we take a look at the other Best Stuff you might have missed...this week.

There may be some teeny tiny spoilers below.

MARTIAN MANHUNTER #5

Best TSA Check

It's never easy going through the TSA before getting on a plane. You have to make sure everything is out of your bag and pockets. Traveling with a Martian...that's another story. Luckily they can help out a bit to make things go smoother.

No Caption Provided

WEIRDWORLD #5

Best Way to Drop a Nuke

In Weirdworld, you can expect things to get really...weird. In this issue we got a pretty crazy battle. Check out how a nuke is being transported.

No Caption Provided

JOURNEY TO STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS #4

Best [Mis]use of Command Privileges

Sometimes those in command feel they know best.

No Caption Provided

Best Reason Not to Throw Thermal Detonators at a Jedi

You would think people and Stormtroopers would know when fighting a Jedi, you shouldn't try certain things. In their defense, pretty much everyone thinks the Jedi are all gone and have been for over twenty years. How are they do know this guy they're fighting (Luke) is a Jedi?

No Caption Provided

BATMAN AND ROBIN ETERNAL #3

Best Reason Dick Grayson Can Never Replace Bruce Wayne

Leave it to Jason Todd to get straight to the point with Dick Grayson.

No Caption Provided

INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #2

Best Display of Characters’ Shared History

What's the deal with Tony Stark and Madame Masque? When he confronts her, a great visual history is given for newer readers.

No Caption Provided

JUSTICE LEAGUE #45

Best Urkel (From “Family Matters” Impression

Okay, this isn't really what happened. But with a certain person dead, Flash asks the question, "Did I do that ?"

No Caption Provided

And in case you're not aware who Urkel is...here you go.

Best Confrontation Between Superman and Lex

Superman and Lex have been at it for the longest time. Once Superman becomes powered up by some energy from Apokolips, looks like the kid gloves (and all of Lex's armor) are off.

No Caption Provided

1872 #4

Best Imitation Impression of Getting Tortured

Black Widow and Banner got captured by some of Roxxon's men. It sounds like they're torturing Natasha as Banner listens outside. When another guy goes in to see how it's going, he finds out the hard truth.

No Caption Provided

Best Scott Snyder Batman Impression

There's a long running joke about Scott Snyder hating horse. If you're unaware or need a refresher, you can read about it HERE.

In 1872, Iron Man tries stopping a guy and accidentally punches the horse (he was hungover and the helmet has small eyes). We'd imagine Scott must really like this image.

No Caption Provided

BIZARRO #5

Best Use of Kryptonian Alphabet

It seems we don't often see the Kryptonian alphabet used in comics much these days. Those rare occasions we do, it's great.

No Caption Provided

It actually says "Destination Earth" on the side.

INVINCIBLE #124

Worst Nightmare Turned Reality

In case you're not aware what's going on with Mark Grayson in INVINCIBLE, he found himself back in time, right to before he got his powers. The worst thing about it all, he has to go through life events, including high school, all over again. How long will this last?

No Caption Provided

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #2

Most Observant Villain

How many times have we seen someone like Spider-Man crawling around on the ceiling and NO ONE seems to notice. You would think someone would see movement out of the corner of their eye or something. Here, we have a villain that is aware what's going on. Too bad it won't help much.

No Caption Provided

BLACK CANARY #5

Best Battle of the Bands Calling Out

Sometimes being in a band is all about the showmanship. When Black Canary's band gets called out, they do it with style.

No Caption Provided

TOKYO GHOST #2

Best Chase

When you're somewhere and you don't want to be seen, you have to do whatever you can to stop someone that spots you. Debbie Decay has no problem chasing after this guy. Sean Murphy's art makes it look glorious.

No Caption Provided

KARNAK #1

Best Defense Against a Bullet

Karnak is able to see the weakness in all things. When someone tries shooting at him, he can easily deal with the bullet.

No Caption Provided

CLEAN ROOM #1

Creepiest Vision

If you're looking for a creepy comic, you should check out CLEAN ROOM. It doesn't go for the easy or obvious moments. This image may seem like it but how it happens is unexpected and pretty perfect. Imagine if you suddenly saw a dead loved one in front of you.

No Caption Provided

UNCANNY INHUMANS #1

Best One-Page Cliffhanger

Black Bolt, Triton, and Reader (along with his dog Forey) had a run in with Kang the Conqueror. Kang transported them to moment before the largest Hydrogen bomb is dropped. It's a quick getaway but does everyone make it?!?

No Caption Provided

This is the point where you hesitate to turn the page. And...we're going to leave you hanging as well. Go buy the issue already.

WHAT IF? INFINITY - GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #1

Best Beat Down

Rocket Raccoon needed Tony Stark's armor. When Tony is greeted by Gamora, his defenses are down (along with his helmet being off). As the panel states, we get a beautiful result.

That's it this week. Let us know in the comments below what other Best Stuff you dug this past week. Thanks to @Outside_85, @FearTheLiving, @djfanco, and @Jawshco for their suggestions! If you want to participate or felt we missed some other Best Stuff, don't complain, especially if you didn't offer any suggestions. Each week you can @reply me on Twitter a @GManFromHeck by Saturdays using the hashtag #BestStuffInComics. We'll give you a shout out and I'll think you're pretty groovy.

Be sure to always look for the best stuff and always be sure to look above you at the ceilings to make sure no one is crawling around and also try to make sure you always pack appropriate things when traveling on planes.

Is it just me, or is Jason way out of character in Batman Eternal. I don't recall him being so jokey.

I am sure Superman said to Lex "This ends now" several times in comicbook history. I guess history just keeps on repeating itself. Speaking of Superman, has DC ever made an official Kryptonian alphabet? I mean, Bethesda made their own language for Skyrim, and it has its own alphabet.

He has been like this since the start of RH/A. In Eternal his jokes are even taken a notch down (or perhaps it just feels that way because Roy isn't with him).

Speaking of Superman, has DC ever made an official Kryptonian alphabet? I mean, Bethesda made their own language for Skyrim, and it has its own alphabet.

They have (its mentioned in this article featuring a scene from Bizarro, in case you missed it), but it's literally just English swapped out with different symbols. Not exactly as complex as Dothraki or the Skyrim language or anything

I think there is an alphabet, but it was lazy as hell. It was just English with a random glyph set which mapped exactly to our alphabet.

For anybody interested in a Kryptonian font, check out this site:

http://kryptonian.info/

It's pretty cool. The dude who runs it is a linguist interested in the actual development of Kryptonian and Kryptonese since its earliest depictions all the way through Man of Steel.
