The Best Battles In Comics This Week

The fights get brutal in this week's comics.

Comics often feature huge fights with superheroes against supervillains. Sometimes we even have superheroes fighting other superheroes. Get ready to cheer and possibly cringe at the brutal punches being thrown in this week's selection of best battles.

There will be some spoilers below!

TOKYO GHOST #3

(By Rick Remender, Sean Murphy, and Matt Hollingsworth)

Led Dent had a rough childhood. After being tormented by some bullies, he eventually became a constable. In this futuristic world, violence is an everyday occurrence. He eventually got his revenge on the bullies by brutally taking them down for their crimes. Led and his partner Debbie escaped the world where everyone was addicted to technology when they ventured to Tokyo. Surrounded by an EMP wave, it was a sanctuary where they were given a second chance.

Unfortunately, those bullies had previously made their way to Tokyo as well and attacked Led. Led is shot by arrows and stabbed. Still standing his ground, the fight soon takes them over a waterfall. Led manages to take out some of the guys but he's outnumbered and has taken too much damage.

Luckily for Dent, the fight is interrupted when the sensei of the sanctuary comes in. Violence is not accepted here and she makes her point clear.

The downed combatant in the last panel above made a pledge in order to be allowed to stay here. He tried to explain that Led and Debbie didn't come here for peace and they would eventually tear everything down. The sensei is not happy and tells him he is no longer welcomed there. As she tends to Led's wounds and starts to heal him, she's caught from behind.

Led is outraged with what has happened. This act can't go unpunished.

As he finishes him, others from the sanctuary show up, only witnessing this final act.

Yeah, this doesn't look good for Led.

UNCANNY INHUMANS #3

(By Charles Soule, Steve McNiven, Jay Leisten, Sunny Gho and Java Tartaglia)

The Inhumans Black Bolt and Medusa have been together for years. Their marriage recently fell apart after Black Bolt unleashed the Terrigen Mist into Earth's atmosphere and also gave their son, Ahura, to the time-traveling tyrant, Kang the Conqueror. In order to stop Kang's attacks against Inhumans throughout time, Black Bolt, Medusa, the Human Torch, and more have made their way to confront Kang. What they discover is their son has spent decades as Kang's apprentice.

With the fight continuing on many fronts, Ahura is able to grab the Human Torch in order to possess his body.

Now in control of Johnny Storm's body, Ahura uses his powers against his father.

Human Torch's flames are intense but Black Bolt's voice has the ability to tear a world apart. The fight between father and son intensifies but there's only one outcome possible.

The force from Black Bolt's voice is too much. The Human Torch's flames are snuffed out and Ahura is forced out of Johnny's body.

This isn't the end of the confrontation. You'll have to read the issue to see what more Black Bolt has to say to his son.

WE ARE ROBIN #7

(By Lee Bermejo, Carmine Di Giandomenico, and Mat Lopes)

There's quite a bit going on in Gotham City these days, with several kids (with help from a mysterious stranger) taken to calling themselves Robin. They believe in taking to the streets to spread their brand of justice. The mayor's office passed an ordinance that made it illegal to wear the Robin colors when one Robin accidentally shot and killed a police officer and convenience store robber with the thief's gun. Several Robins, including the current and past actual ones: Jason Todd, Tim Drake, and Damian Wayne, were arrested. If that wasn't bad enough, they were turned over to the evil Court of Owls, who secretly run things in Gotham behind the scenes.

The Court takes Jason and Tim and tells them to fight to the death. The winner will get to stand by their side. If they don't fight, they will start to kill the kids that are locked up with them.

Jason has long had a chip on his shoulder. He was the Robin that was killed by the Joker (and yes, he managed to return from the dead). Tim came after Jason but has made it clear he never wanted to replace Jason as Robin.

Much to the surprise of the others, especially Damian, the two are giving the fight all they have.

Could they really be fighting to the death? Jason has killed before. It's not like either would want to kill the other but the lives of all the other Robin kids hangs in the balance. Perhaps these two have something else up their sleeves? You'll have to read the issue to find out what happens next.

I HATE FAIRYLAND #3

(By Skottie Young and Jean Francois-Beaulieu)

Gertrude is a little girl who was whisked away to Fairyland. The problem is she got stuck there for nearly 30 years. If this wasn't bad enough, she's been stuck in the body of a child this entire time. She's pretty angry and extremely violent. All she wants is to find the key that will let her return to the real world.

She comes across another child stuck in Fairyland. What really angers Gert is this girl has only been there one day and has made it as far as she has in nearly 30 years. Gert immediately plans on destroying the girl but there may be more to here than there appears.

Gert isn't doing to well after this blast. It makes you wonder how there could be an issue 4.

That's all the time we have for this week. Thanks to dondave for his suggestions.
