Currently, the SECRET WARS book, WEIRDWORLD, is one of the strangest books in the summer event line-up. Writer Jason Aaron and artist Mike Del Mundo have crafted something incredibly memorable. So memorable, in fact, that WEIRDWORLD is getting its own on-going series in December, written by Sam Humphries.

In an interview with Marvel, Humphries discussed the upcoming book and said that he and artist Mike Del Mundo are delivering a mixture of horror, sci-fi, and fantasy. It's also inside the Marvel Universe, but tough to get to:

It’s as real as Avengers Tower or the Savage Land. But Weirdworld is a magical place, and that magic warps all sorts of expectations. From Weirdworld, Earth appears to hang like a moon in the sky—but you can't just fly there. From Earth, you can unintentionally find yourself there very quickly, but trying to get there intentionally is very difficult.

The book will follow 16-year old Becca who crashes into Weirdworld. She has to find her way home, and encounters a wizard named Ogeode who claims he can bring the worlds together. There's also Goleta, a barbarian wizardslayer and Catbeast. There will also be a lot carrying over from the SECRET WARS series into this new series as well.

WEIRDWORLD hits comic shops in December.
