Reptil's promoted to class president, but his hesitancy to open about what's been troubling may actually threaten his position.
The Good
Reptil gets the spotlight in this issue and it's another three dimensional character analysis that doesn't fit the kid into any easy archetypes or cliches. Actually, he's probably one of the most accurately depicted teenagers I've seen in a superheroes. He's well-meaning but woefully confused, and he's got teen angst that never gets maudlin. The way he acts in his hook-ups with Finesse and in his counseling session with Jessica Jones were especially spot on.
The Bad
Maybe somebody was listening to Susan Boyle when they were putting this together, but I really don't get what the quote from Les Miserables has to do with any of this. Reptil says he's got a dream, sure, but he isn't really old enough to be expressing the kind of melancholy that the quote expresses. It seems like it was reaching.
The Verdict - 4.5/5
Like I keep saying, I thought this was going to be a really cheesy book when I first saw the previews of it, but it's proven to be almost as dark and dramatic a title as Thunderbolts is. The fact that these are all kids adds an even greater sense of urgency to the proceedings, because a lot of them are really in over their heads and you really can't guess how a lot of them will turn out.
This, T-Bolts, SA are my Avenger books. Al three are amazing and brings unique things to the table. Secret has more fight scenes than you could manage and really good to the characters. T-bolts has so much interactions between the characters it makes you smile. Academy is pure character developmental with great characterization. Dump New and Avengers, pick up those three. Much better reads and leave you satisfied.
Now that all the introductions are over I still don't see what makes these kids such a threat to the marvel U, I can see Hazmat and maybe Finesse becoming a problem in the future if not properly groomed into heroes. But between Mettle's punch barely phasing Juggernuat, Veil's own power killing her, Striker being blinded by fame, and Reptil's power being revealed to be capped I really don't see them becoming any bigger of a threat then your common b-list villain.
" Avengers Academy 6!! Where did time go?! How did I miss the previous 4?! Time goes by so fast... Looks like a fun issue! "
you need to catch up on this series. It''s hands down, one of the best series marvel is putting out right now "
I agree with this completely. In my opinion, the stories coming out of this series have been some of the most enjoyable Marvel's been putting out lately.

Man! I really to get on to that thanks to both of you :P I dunno how I missed the rest.. I remember pickin' up the beginning, really liked it, and then... huh, I read a review of issue 6 here! Seems like I totally had forgotten about this one...

I agree with this. Hazmat has the power and Finesse has the brains. They really are the only two with any villain potential. If striker wasn't star struck he would actually have potential.
