Red Robin #4 Reviewed, What's The Bat Symbol Mean?

G-Man reviews the issue and talks about the bat-symbol Tim finds.

Yesterday DC revealed that Tim finds a certain bat-symbol found in a cave.  What does this mean?  Is he about to discover the truth about Bruce Wayne?  Is his search near its end?

Are you reading Red Robin?  I mentioned in the video that this is one of the most important books in the Bat-family line of books.  Thinking about it, you could probably say it is the most important book.  Tim is the only one that believes that Bruce is still alive.  As brilliant as Bruce is, I'm not sure if he can return from wherever or whenever he is.  Tim just might be his only hope.

Chris Yost has added a new layer to Tim.  While Tim has been proving himself since he first became Robin, now we see him finally stepping up and really going out on his own.  Sure he's operated solo before but this is different.  He's putting himself in new and dangerous situations.  I do wonder what will happen to him after all this.  What will happen to his character?  Will he be able to return to Gotham as the same person?  What will the others think about him working with Ra's al Ghul?  What will Bruce think?  You should definitely be reading this book.

I keep meaning to pick this up, I have been reading batman and Robin and MR has been digging the new Batgirl, I have always been a fan of the Red Robin (character) and now that tim has taken the mantle I really should get it pesky money keeps getting in the way, Damn food.

I really doubt the full story of Bruce Wayne will be explained in Red Robin since Grant Morrison's continuity has been ignored by other writers before Bruce left. Now I think they are taking a few cues from his book but still I think that he is telling the real story and everyone is writing based on the same premise of Bruce gone. Red Robin may take a big step toward finding Bruce but this is the end of the first part and still Bruce will probably be gone for a year so I'm still skeptical about his quest.

Maybe Tim will go off the deep and wind up nuts. He'll be the new two face. Not knowing if he is the hero robin or the villain Red Robin ...

Why couldn't Tim become Robin again if (when) Bruce comes back.  Damian licks balls and he whole idea of a son of Batman licks balls too.  I've said it before, there is nothing intimidating about a 10 year old unless he's got a gun.

Tim won't be Robin again DC wouldn't have made a series to change it's name to Robin after Bruce returns. And if it was a 10 or 12 issue series DC would have announced and Tim was twelve when he started.

This is my second favorite monthly right now and I'm loving this book. That page showing Tim finding the symbol was such a great moment as well as Tim coming back out of the cave with a big sh*t-eating grin on his face, priceless lol. Tim has been a little sloppy though in this series but considering all the changes he's been going through, it makes sense.

Probably the best book of the week.  RED ROBIN's first arc rocked, and you get the idea that this is probably the book to where we'll find out exactly where Bruce is, before Bruce shows himself finally.  One of my best friends has always said Tim Drake should've become Batman, or was the natural choice.  This book is the closest to a Batman-style book out of all the "Reborn" stories because Tim is so much like Bruce.

Chris Yost is a very impressive writer.  Guess we won't be seeing REB ROBIN vs. X-FORCE, but that'd be awesome with Yost coming up with the plot I'm sure.

so it should be easy enough to carbon date the batarang or the picture on the wall and find out where in time Bruce is,  then someone in the DC universe has to have a time machine right?

It's never that easy, we really don't know the exact ramifications of the omega sanction that fried Bruce, But if someone can find a way it will be Tim, lets hope his mind is in tact when he completes his mission. Tim was always my favorite of the Robins because I grew up with him in the role, and loved his solo book when i was a kid. I also wonder what his role will be after the dust settles and Bruce comes back.

yeah I know I was over simplifing things but you would think it should be just that easy....Tim's always been my favorite Robin, I don't really like him as Red Robin but I'm glad that he's growing as a character.  I'm hoping that when Bruce does eventually come back that things don't just go back to normal.  I'd actually like to see Tim in either a new super role or take over the Nightwing identity

I'm really enjoying his time spent as Red Robin so far, I actually just went to lunch at a chain restaurant called Red Robin I thought that was funny seeing as how I was just talking about the comic.....anyway back to business, I wouldn't mind him staying as red robin when Bruce comes back maybe in an upgraded costume, but  Nightwing is Dick's game I don't really want him to take on that persona. I don't know maybe he'll make something new up, I hope Ra's doesn't completely screw him up mentally. Tim needs to stay away from the lazarus pit.

I think it will be cool if the Nightwing name stayed in Superman books now since it came from there and everyone expects Dick to be Nightwing again so if he doesn't take it back then everyone will be surprised and won't expect it.

I think that down the road when Tim finds Bruce they will arrive back in Gotham just in time to see Dick/Batman die...making way for Bruce's return to the cowl.  Tim will stay as Red Robin or maybe become Nightwing to honor Dick & Damian will stay as Robin.  I'm thinking the one to put an end to Grayson will be Two Face or maybe the Black Mask.  Thoughts???

Sounds tragic enough to sell some comics for sure, I hope it's not the case, but who knows I've thought about this  scenario myself, I always kinda thought it might be Dr.Hurt

I doubt that Dr. Hurt will kill him and in fact Dick will actually take down Hurt just before Bruce comes back. I think that that would be best for a story standpoint to show everyone that he was a great Batman by doing what Bruce himself couldn't actually do.

That was a SUPERB ending!! I love it.

I figured there was something up with the mark Tim found. The one Bruce was shown drawing was smaller, but I'm pretty sure Bruce had to make many.

I've read this issue and I completely agree with G-Man. This was my first use of CBR and they really gave me a bad impression (I also visited the forum and they were calling sirens bad, that also annoyed me).  :(

Like Tim said in the book. This is only the start. We are a long way off from Bruces return. It's going to be interesting to see where he heads now. Does he go back to Gotham? Also I think Ras will try even harder to recruit him.

Bruce got lost in time & space and probably got dropped somewhere in the dinosaur age where he did some cave drawings that someone was supposed to find in the future then died. (hoping that the Justice league might travel back into time and get him out of there) i guess...
