Punisher Meets Black Widow in a Cross-Over This August

Writer Nathan Edmondson works with Phil Noto and Mitch Gerads on what looks to be one heck of a cross-over!

This August, something pretty awesome is happening at Marvel. Writer Nathan Edmondson is having two of his Marvel books cross-over for a story called "Friend From Foe:" Punisher and Black Widow.

BLACK WIDOW #9, featuring the art of Phil Noto, and PUNISHER #9, with art from Mitch Gerads, both books feature characters who may not always act like heroes, but it's a cross-over that makes perfect sense.

“Both stories led us to a place where a crossover was possible at just about the same time,” say series writer Nathan Edmondson in an interview with Marvel.com. “We knew fans were clamoring for it from the beginning, but we didn’t want to rush into it – when it was a natural time, we came up with a really unique way to launch into it... Frank and Natasha are a really interesting pair to combine together... On the one hand, they seem to exist in the same kind of heroic/antiheroic space in the Marvel Universe, but at some point the similarities stop and the disparity begins, and the tug and pull between those two ends will be at play here.”

The two-part cross-over will actually feature the infamous Crossbones and his Skull Squad and the duo will be racing against the clock in order to complete their mission. Check out the covers for these upcoming books.
