It looks good because of Coipel's art, but the seemingly relentless need to make Thor a willing accomplice in his own character assassination has grown old.

@lvenger: I think they mean a "Purist."

Like if Spider-Man shoots organic it ain't Spidey.

Or if Hulk gets his abilities from the Super Soldier experiment (like MCU) then it ain't "The Hulk."

@guardiandevil83: I'm fine with Spidey using organic webbing myself and although I prefer the gamma bomb origin for Hulk, I'm not too fussed about the super soldier experiment in the Ultimate/MCU universes. This is more than that.

There is more than one eternity. The Eternity that is chained up is the Multiversal Eternity. The one who got ulyssus is the 616 Eternity. Every universe has it's own eternity that are independent but smaller aspects of the Multiversal eternity. Multiversal eternity is probably chained up due to something involving secret wars if I was too guess

Thanks for Advise There Still Problem About Future Thor Wield Real Original Mjolnir vs Necro Loki They Fighting in Spideman 2099 era Those Building are 2099 year Future. Thor wear same armor as king thor but he still young Man That Bother me Might That Possible future i mean Alternate Time Line Future.

Spiderman 2099 from future call Earth 928 right now is in Past Time line call Earth 616 he Work For Peter Company. Miguel O Hara he had Time Travel Vault Door he Always Change Past He Create many Alternate Timelines Future Become Time Paradox has been cut from main Time line that why they Call it possible future Some of Them Become True and Some of Them Not Become True.

Here Prove well the one thing i noticed here is that future Thor's young man wearing the destroyer arm plus with his original Mjolnir from alternate Timeline Future King Thor, not the uru arm one. from original Timeline Thor had Ultimate Mjolnir

Olivier Coipel´s art is awesome as always, that said, I don´t know why he accepted doing this series, he drew on of the best runs on Thor so he knows what´s the character about, he knows this is bullcrap, I guess they offered him good money, but not all the money in the world is worth ruining your reputation working in this shitty book.

@thor_parker82:

Two things I feel I can say with confidence about Coipel's return to Thor:

(1) As long as he turns out work that meets his usual standard (which certainly appears to be the case; in fact, he may well be exceeding it), doing this book will have no negative effect whatsoever on Coipel's reputation.

(2) While Marvel may not have actually offered him "all the money in the world" they probably came pretty close.

1- Yes, his work is very good, extremely good I can say, but being the artist in a series that disrespects all the lore and mythos of Thor on top of it being a book/approach that most fans dislike (the sales are way lower than Jurgens and Strazcynski´s run) will certainly hurt his reputation.

2- That´s what I´m guessing, they probably paid him a lot of money to work in that shitty book because Thor fans are highly fond of his work and the editorial knows he´d boost the sales, otherwise I would bet the sales would be even worse if it wasn´t for Coipel´s inclusion in the art.

If we shut down our brain and think Thor comics only born after the whisper... If not... If we read other Thor comics (even Aaron's God of Thunder with young Thor) we know Thor is Thor the God of Thunder with or without any hammer... Just like Odin is Odin with or without Gungnir...

There is this thing called story rooted where the writer plants seeds so that the reader can understand/anticipate why some plot points will make sense... And there is random writing where writers enter in a spiral of convenient plot points without much effort for justifications...

EX...

Creative Decision

- Female Thor

Execution

- Thor needs to lose his own name to credit the new creative decision

- Then he gets his name again with other hammer... Bill's?

- No Beta Ray Bill has relevance in Thor's canon, just bring a random one... From where?

- Could be from another Universe, is just for the sake of try to justify the original creative decision... That even we (Marvel Editorial/Aaron) know that doesn't make any sense...

The writing is really bad, the story doesn´t make sense and the character is being disrespected as I had never seen before, Thor is the god of thunder with or without a hammer.

You know, Thor throwing himself a pity party doesn't make us accept the stupid ''unworthy'' change any better. It is still awful and it will stay awful unless it is reversed. So stop with '' Oh I am so unworthy and I deserve this '' crap and give us at LEAST SOME shred of evidence as to why he thinks something as stupid as that and why is he being replaced by a cancer patient Jane is somehow ''Better'' ?

Either way, it is good to read about the real Thor but not when they keep trying to Hammer the idea '' oh look, Thor accepts it, you should too ''.

And Thor IS the God of Thunder with or without the Hammer. The Hammer doesn't make you a God. That would be stupid. Cosmic Cubes doesn't make you a God, just give you a tool to do God-like things but you are not a God. Thor IS a God and he WAS a God before Mjollnir. So somehow losing the hammer shouldn't turn him into 'not God'

The justifications are weak and needs to stop because it only makes it worse to read and hate the change EVEN MORE. At this point, you know you are wrong, WHY you are wrong and HOW you are wrong, yet still try to act like you are right... Yea, that will not work.

Just give Thor the hammer and lets move on from this pity-fest.

Are you assuming that the hammer is what makes Thor (son of Odin and Gaea) a God? Is this your first Thor comic? Look at the scans below.... (the hammer gives you the power of Thor (the God of Thunder), but if you already are Thor (the God of Thunder), you already have that powers (besides Flying), and to be a God represents a lot more than just power)...

Comparing new debuted series vs old series is pretty stupid. That's why Marvel want to do #1 every year or 2 years. It's more accessible for new readers as they said.

@phillip33: Yeah, it seems like it may be psychosomatic.

I'm thinking it was a spell not just something he did that made him unworthy.

For all we know this could be his uncle or grandfather's doing.

And, in actual lore didn't Thor have his hammer stolen by regular humans and then tried dressing as a woman to get it back?

Mighty Thor #12.1 (it was adapted from the original Norse Myth) You probably mean Frost Giants... At that time the hammer didn't have any enchantment if we ignore Aaron's recent retcon on the hammer origin... Still don't get what you are trying to claim? Look at the scans below of the already unworthy Thor in the Axis event...

Or maybe not! And faith doesn't have anything to do with Thor natural born powers capacities!!! Loki: Agent of Asgard#9 /Axis Event (Already Unworthy and both Thor and Loki inverted)

(I mean assuming that Jason Aaron current writing was not just convenient and contradictory)

@asgaard: his ability to lift the hammer isn't inherent, and in all of those lightnijg w/o mjolnir scans it seems like he summons the lightning more through belief than anything, as if he's asking for it. He becoming unworthy probably messed with his emotional state, making him unable to summon the lightning... he even states that the lightning doesn't "answer" his call anymore.

That scan from the Loki/Axis comic was after the whisper, so i am not sure if you get my point about continuity, and i am not getting your point if we acknowledge continuity!!!

If you are saying that back in the time of Axis, Marvel didn't have any idea of what was the whisper (was just to force change) and only now will try to do something about it, then i don't find your reasoning that bad!!! Although in the all canon, nothing says that Thor ability to control lightning is based on faith, seems just another convenient plot device from Aaron... With the intention to justify what has no justification... Thor is the son of Odin and Gaea's (born) name.... Balder (and others) also are Odinson's...

I also could be missing something since i don't read Thor comics for a while... Just have some feedback similar to this...

Considering that Thor titled comics in issue #1 of the main continuity, 98% of the time always sold more than 100K and Unworthy Thor only sold 70K, yes its a terrible result...

Not sure what you are supporting, and you can spin it wherever you want, but after that whisper Aaron progressively lost the majority of Thor fan base... I am a big Thor/Asgard fan and will only be back to the title when there is another writer with a Thor story... (about Gods)

@asgaard: I wouldn't be surprised if they are working a retcon to tie his lighting w/o a hammer to belief, as it seems Aaron could be doing because it is consistent in Aaron's writing, and he's been at the helm of Thor for a while now. Lots of things changing in marvel these days, wouldn't be surprised.

I didn't say you did. But your insistence that Coipel's reputation as artist is in danger of being damaged by Aaron's writing--regardless of the actual quality of Coipel's own work--suggests a basic lack of understanding of how reputations are formed.
