Preview: ULTIMATES #11

Gonna miss this art once Ultimates Squared launches.

Another good preview.

I hate that Kenneth Rocafort will be departing. His superb art is one of the reasons, beside the engaging storyline, that's kept me attached to the series. I can only hope that it will continue to impress and hope he'll return down the road.

@greenscar1990: he's leaving?! Why?! Noooo!!! The story is excellent but what made me purchase it originally was the damn artwork I saw online. Specifically the picture of Galactus holding the Ultimates in his hand. I kept seeing it online & did some digging then decided to follow the books.

@king_nomarch: What's Ultimates Squared?!?! Please tell me this isn't getting cancelled! If this gets cancelled I'm done with marvel.

This is LEGIT the BEST thing Marvel has going right now. The artwork is beautiful & the story is unique & engaging. I just SERIOUSLY wish they would stop with the Civil War2 crossovers bcz it is killing an excellent book. Civil War 2 sucks ass & it's been ruining The Ultimates for like 3-4 books. Please stop it Marvel.

This , and vision are the best thing marvel has right now . The only 2 books I'm picking up right now. Damn you marvel , and bendis.

Looks great

Although I am currently a little burnt on on Marvel, I still pick this book up. Al Ewing's writing is spot on in complexity and raising the stakes on such a powerful team. Kenneth's artwork is a great compliment to the story. I'm loving this book even with the editorial mandate of blending into Civil War II heaved upon it. I wish more of the Marvel books were this high quality in both concept and execution.

This series is pretty great

As much as I love this series I don't see why they went back to Thanos craving power, that hasn't been a part of his MO since Marvel: The End. There's also the fact that this takes place before Infinity: Finale and as we see in it; he is very much in love with Death.

"We do it to make it feel like seasons" wtf...I like when my comic collection gets into the high #s but I can't do that because every other year these fucktards are relaunching shit, & it usually is worse! I'm gonna be mad & for real done if they ruin The Ultimates.

@dondave: i think this actually confirms infinity finale is in continuity... thanos references the LT as being blind as a newborn or whatever, hinting at it being warlock... i think its an artists mistake.

Infinity Finale is set after the current MU. For example Annihilus is still alive in the current MU despite being killed and Mephisto hasn't had his mouth removed in the MU either.

Maybe the 3rd face we can't see is Warlocks? Didn't Warlock replace living tribunal after he died from the beyonders? It doesn't make sense living tribunal is alive here unless I am missing something.

Warlock is meant to be the face that is seen. The other two faces are meant to covered and half covered respectively. We see on the last page what is assumed to be the fully covered face and the half covered face meaning the face that we see should be Warlock but isn't. Based on the setup of the second Infinity Trilogy there should be no LT anyway. It seems that the current Marvel directive is ignore everything Starlin did in them.

@dondave: Yea that seems to be the impression I am getting. I am not sure if infinity finale is canon.

I think it could just be an editorial mistake. Rocafort probably wasn't aware of the changes and the editor failed to correct it. As far as I know, the Infinity OGNs are all canon.

Sigh, another relaunch. Oh well, I'm gonna read it.

I feel like we have reverted to 1950's DC Universe style. Its not like an interactive universe with a shared continuity is what Marvel built their entire empire on...
