Well the Secret Wars Civil War mini series was a fun read, so at least that gives me hope. Im very cautiously optimistic.

Honestly it was just a bad story that was supposed to fill in the blanks for what Cyclops did, that had everyone so horrified by him. In the end he does nothing wrong, the Inhumans are in the wrong 100 percent. Medusa comes across rather Hitlerish and the X-men look bad for making Cyclops into a monster for wanting to save Mutants from the mist the Inhumans refuse to get rid of that is killing Mutants with M Pox and normal humans as well.

What even are those first three pages? Are they actually going to just reprint the cover over three pages in the comic?

I don't understand. If the Inhumans aren't in danger, why not contain the Mist and release it in more contained ways so it doesn't spread over the whole planet at once?

I don't get it. If Marvel wants to get people to like the Inhumans, they are doing a terrible job.

Also,i don't understand how the cloud just can't be contained to one area. Several of the people involved here have heled to destroy planets, have traveled through time and have traveled to other galaxies. Seriously, why is this so difficult?

The one with the blurb must be the back cover, as it has the barcode on it. The other two pages are rather pointless I agree, but Civil War II is guilty of the same thing.

Actually that's kind of whats happening. After this event the Inhumans are going back into space. So that old rumor from a while back is kind of true except it's the Inhumans going in to space instead of the mutants.

This seems more like a problem created outside of Death of X. And I agree, the Inhumans come off as unsympathetic a-holes, but I kind of thought that was the point. The Inhumans always seem to get their way and no matter what the Mutants do they are still feared and hated. So you might have had different expectations of what was suppose to happen in Death of X, but on it's own, it told a good story about someone inciting a war for revenge. That said I did think there was some plot holes, like BlackBolt not being charged for murder. He might have not actually killed Cyclops, but everyone in the world thinks he did. That and in IvX #0, Ema has a news story on a tablet, depicting how Blackbolt killed Cyclops, but if there were cameras there to record the incident, it wouldn't have captured anything since it was all just a mental projection. A few plotpoints aside, Death of X was a good read, but I do think the Inhumans were portrayed as entitled a-holes, and in some cases, villains.

EDIT:

To be fair Scott's actions have been demonized ever since the death of Xavier. I always knew in the back of my head that what Scott did, it was gonna be a huge misunderstanding, as it has been for a while. That said yeah, they could have had Emma project Scott killing a tons of Inhumans in their cocoons. Then the reaction would have been easier to swallow, but a lot of this reeks of them not knowing what Scott was gonna do. Either way it couldn't actually be anything evil.

You know they're going to do new X-men books and a few solos right? It was not really mentioned on the site, but Cable, Iceman and some others are getting solos, plus the return of X-men blue and gold teams. This was announced a while back.

At least for me this shows a huge flaw in what Marvels current creative process is. I truly believe and think its pretty evident in how Death of X turned out, That Lemire and the rest of the X writers had no clue what Cyclops did since, That concept was given to them by editorial. So they have to fill in the blanks in the on going and once we got the "answer" there is a huge disconnect in both status quo and story telling because of it. I suppose you could chalk this one up to not plotting out a big picture.

As for the series death of X perhaps if you read it just as a mini series you could get more enjoyment out of it, But when read in context with the other X titles it's a train wreck that feels like a square peg trying to fit in a round hole. Marvel will not call the Inhumans the villains because they still want to push them to become main stream. The problem with that is ever since there push started it's been in fumbled. Soule has done a decent job with what he was given but focusing on new Inhumans instead of the royals was a mistake, combine that with fracturing Black Bolt/Medusa where both seem unlikable now or the addition of a terrible love triangle with Johnny, Which has people rolling there eyes. My hope is that IVX will be Marvel admitting they screwed up, and hitting panic button on the Inhumans sending them back to the moon and focusing on the big guns.

This too is my hope, as I felt in both the reading of Death of X and IvX #0, the juxtaposition of the Mutants and Inhumans is so stark, that if it's not a huge misdirect, then I will be disappointed with IvX.

Oh dear, they're dragging poor Ms. Marvel into this.

Well, at least Beast, who is one of my favorite X-Men, is at least trying to be reasonable and fix the situation instead of jump jumping straight to "WAR!!!". Now if only my other favorite Emma could get a break.

Cyclops didn't do anything wrong, he was saving his people from being poison to death by the Inhuman's cloud of death. I don't get why the Inhuman just created a machine to catch that damn cloud. It should be possible with the help of Beast, if science doesn't work you have magic with Magik.

The Avengers or SHIELD should arrest the Inhuman for endangering the lives of Mutants and Humans.

So pumped for this. Been waiting a long time for the inhumans to get a main run again.

Also if Emma really thinks diamond form is going to allow her to fight black bolt, she probably is going to die, and that's probably how he will end up in the prison at the end of reality with absorbing man for his solo run.

@joey_ravn: Considering this spring they are launching a ton of X-men books I don't see them killing off the X-men. That said hopefully we kill off this stupid need to put the X-men against Inhumans angle. It has come off as the Inhumans being douches ready to go to war with people being decimated by their mist. Hopefully RessuXion will bring X-men back to a better time of X-books.

But they might be doing that just to keep the copyright on the characters. I don't think marvel has any real respect or affection for the X-men and I really don't that the writers do.

I really don't like the inhumans, barely was even aware of them before Marvel NOW, and Marvel NOW has not done anything good with them, to compensate for showing them so deep down our throats.

Not to mention the X-Men & F4 have been horribly broken & scattered.I'm not even mad, just really sad as someone who started reading marvel first, marvel doesn't even feel like the place I once got lost into as a child.

@lionman Emma Frost already used her telepathy on them and got away with it. Her diamond form is her last resort (imo).

@RaunJisto Sure, bud? It's because of how uncanny X-Men are going down that makes me think IvX is in the past. I'm just a tad confused but if you say so, I'll go with it. This makes me more excited. It shows Emma Frost isn't dead in the present.

Well, mind you that Beast and Emma became my favorite X-Men during the time where the X-Men where not completely split up and they were all still teaching at a school. So it is understandable why I liked them so much then and just as understandable why I hate it when they are badly written, like how anyone would feel seeing characters they like have their entire character and personalities re-written and destroyed for the sake of "drama". I'm just taking at least so comfort in that Beast is at least trying to fix the situations to the benefit of both sides and not just saying "Well, it's them or us, so let's KILL THEM ALL!" like I'm sure has happened to plenty of other characters in event comics.

That's just not how it is and we both know it. While Beast was wasting time on this people were dying from M-Pox. And he solved nothing. He only found that time is running out. And yes, this situation is "either them or us". Only stakes are different. For inhumans it's a question of culture and having powers. They can live without mists. As humans. Mists are not required for their existanse or reproductions, only for triggering of powers. Mutants? For them it's a question of live and death. They simply can't live with terrigen in atmosphere, because it is deadly and it is killing them. In ideal world mutants would attack inhumans together as soon as they'll find out about M-Pox, destroy clouds and execute Black Bolt for poisoning of atmosphere. Mutants had every right to strike back and they shoud do just that.

@destinyhero20: the cloud was released on purpose to awaken all inhumans in order to save the future of their race. Before "infinity" the cloud was contained in a chamber. Its almost like a religous and sacred thing to them, they wont just destroy it. Once all inhumans awake whos to say they wont just contain it again? I dont think black bolt knew it would harm mutants, but once it was put into motion, no inhuman would undo it because of its sacred nature.
