Man, this book is getting better & better. Love that cover(classic-style Star-Lord has never looked so awesome); bringing in the Nova Corps is just too awesome(Rael Rider...connected to another RR we know & love); I love the classic team & this timeline; love that they're going to bring back Nikki(will Aleta follow? Maybe Talon?) & I can't wait to see King Peter the Star-Lord in action!! Great to have Dan Abnett on a cosmic title again, bringing back that ol' cosmic magic he & Lanning used to do...any combination of the D or A of DnA never disappoints. We need to get Abnett or Lanning on the main GOTG book, stat!

Hold up waitaminute did Marvel really have to do a series with "3000" after the title? DC already has like 3 of those and now i can't keep 'em apart

Actually that's referencing the fact the original Guardians of the Galaxy, published in 1969, are from the 31st century.

This comic has some of the worst bait and switch cover art ever. The cover is all Alex Ross and the interiors look like bad anime fanart from 1996.

I agree they could have just called it Guardians Future or something million other names, they chose 3000 months after JL 3000 came out I just find that too funny..

Not talking about the series of Guardians(though if you want to be THAT technically JL came out 9 years before that so..), talking about the TITLE. Two different things, Marvel ripped off DC plain and simple with the title #3000(not that this is anything new) So hardly invalid. Regardless of all the excuses some Marvel fans want to conjure up they could have went with countless other names yet chose "3000" The JL #3000 title is based off of the original Justice League which came out long before 1969....1960 to be exact.

And as for the books with 3000 title, again DC came out with that title first. Last December 2013...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justice_League_3000

Guardians 3000 title came out recently...Octo 2014, nearly a year later...

http://marvel.com/comics/issue/50965/guardians_3000_2014_1

That's a whole year more or less Marvel had to decide...my argument is very valid.

@fallingcliffs: The Guardians were in the 31st century well before DC ever put the Justice League in that time period. But DC was just first to put a "3000" at the end of a comic title title.

Again, I'm saying the title doesn't give Marvel that excuse. They could have named it various other titles and again JL came out 9 years before the Guardians...

True, that was cool. And it makes sense for Drax to be able to, actually. Besides that, Bendis has no concept of the true potential of these characters, or how to write sci-fi adventure.

@fallingcliffs: Bro, it's just a title.
