Why the heck is Onslaught coming back?

This just in. February 2011 will mark a crazy time for the heroes in the Marvel Universe.

Why is Onslaught coming back? What does this mean for Professor X and Magneto? The only information released is Onslaught Unleashed #1 will be written by Sean McKeever with pencils by Filipe Andrade. The cover will be by Humberto Ramos and variant cover by Rob Liefeld. Rated T+ with a $3.99 price tag.

Onslaught is going to job terribly this team shouldn't have anywhere near the power to take on Onslaught when Graviton and Firestar actually count as heavy hitters your team is screwed.

Marvel is . Unless its an event... or an event tie in... or any title starring their big (counting on finders) 8 or 9 characters. Or writen by Bendis. Or Loeb. Nah, DC's getting rid of the Secondary features. Just some minis and some events. 
 
@MisterMollusk: I think Marvel said they weren't releasing any NEW ONGOINGS that were $3.99. I never have to wonder why I like DC more than Marvel.

i am conflicted about this, on 1 hand i want the conclusion of this now trilogy with satisfyng results as we last of onslaught he was drifting around in the negative zone, the connection with the young allies and onslaught is rikki barnes, the secret avengers are awesome and so is sean keevers writing, tho im so happy ramos isnt doin the interior art as he is  joke (his spectacular spiderman run was painful, he made doc ock look like  a pig!he aint doctor oinktopus!) onslaught original was flawed but fun, reborn a creative mess which wasnt worth it,tho this could have potential tho it does look like a b-list event!

I'll need to go back and read all the trades again because the first time he was around is about the time I quit comics for awhile. We'll see, who knows.

I think this will be centred on pocket universe characters. Really just because the Young Allies are there & they aren't exactly the Avengers yet are they. 
Also think It won't be a crossover since The Secret Avengers are on the cover. If their trying to be secret a crossover won't help.

i´m not buying it, for two reasons:
1st - I don´t like cartoonish styles like Filipe Andrade and
2nd - Bringing back Onslaught is a bad taste move by Marvel,
this belong in the past, it´s not good anymore.

Onslaught reborn was such a massive letdown that the only bright side I can get from this story is that this time around it has to be better... right??

I am SO excited about this!! Onslaught was one of my favorite stories and i quit collecting for a while so i missed Onslaught Reborn...this is awesome AND a good excuse to go buy the Reborn series!

 im glad theyre following up the strings they left untied in Onslaught Reborn where Onslaught was teleported
to the Superhuman prison in the negative zone and Rikki to 616, in any case. But the story will probably be as
cheesy as that one was. Onslaught is as hard to retell as the Beyonder or Jaspers is being he's stapled in his first storyline
and a little too powerful

Awesome, only 1 more week until Onslaught Unleashed #1 comes out! I'm glad it's only a 4 part mini-series too, that means I don't have to spend a lot of money!

sigh this is what happens when sales go down they look for whatever got their sales up then rinse, recycle, repeat. Like how World War HULKSSSSS that story arc created like five or six new hulk level characters and the abomination is being brought back even though they have Abomb who I preferred over the original.

Onslaught is a beast... hands down but his back story since reborn is horrible...... i mean the x-men & avengers etc. should have been his main priority. maybe he can even be connected & be part of the reason Y the scarlet witch went crazy & had a power flux. i mean scarlet witch wasnt even suppose to enter the energy field because she was a mutant but thought her mystic powers would protect her maybe that should be considered & it would make a good story

I have to agree with some of the comments here as I liked Onslaught in the 90s but when they bought him back in 2006 that mini just sucked all over and they made him into a generic jobber villain. This recent one wasn't as bad but unless they have a good story to bring him back, he should be used sparingly
