New X-Men Movie Announced

Well this is exciting... but predictable. They wanted an even stronger story that showcased Wolverine so this movie will definitely show another side to his already multiple personality character. But maybe we'll get some really good cameos of awesome characters. Wonder if the woman playing Blink in X-Men: DoFP will reprise her role?

Wait, what?? Jean was never Pyrokinetic and originally there was no Phoenix Force, that was invented for retcons. Originally, Jean was just the Phoenix. It seems like someone else has never read X-Men comics :D

Bryan Singer isn't the only one who works on the film, and Christopher Nolan never read comics either. It didn't hinder his ability to make good films.

I mentioned Prof X because his body was destroyed and everyone thought he was gone forever, cue the ending and he's revealed to still be alive. Same thing happened for Jean in fact after X2. Point being that they clearly don't have a problem reviving characters, so they could easily do it again.

You're making fairly general statements about how the apacolypse movie's going to suck, when barely anything's been revealed about it and the Days of Future Past movie isn't even out yet. I'd call that premature, as all it really is is judging movies you haven't seen.

In terms of the movie not being out yet, I was speaking of Days of Future Past. What happens in that movie will directly effect what happens in the next one, and that includes the team roster and their effectiveness against threats as a team. Considering it's an X movie, there's a good chance that more mutants will be added to the team in this movie, and the next movie. Wouldn't even say a chance, more like a guarantee. And considering that time travel's an essential part of the upcoming movie, i'd be fairly surprised if some of the old cast don't return. We literally just saw Charles return at the end of the last Wolverine movie. In terms of everything you said being stated by "them", i highly doubt that they said things like:

If they want this to be good they need to really nail Days of Future Past and set the stage for this. That being said i'd love an Age of Apocalypse film.

Just give Colossus more screen time and I will be happy (although I wished that Nightcrawler and Gambit were in this film).

X-Men: Apocalypse Director and Cast Update

We’ve got more news on X-Men: Apocalypse, the superhero sequel that Bryan Singer Tweeted about last week.

The director suggested that the film would hit in 2016, and we’ve since learned that it will arrive in cinemas on May 27 of that year.

Well Vulture has now confirmed that Singer will most definitely direct, and that the film will be a direct sequel to X-Men: Days of Future Past.

But where that film is a time-travel story that focuses on the young X-Men from X-Men: First Class as well as their older counterparts from the earlier X-Men flicks, Apocalypse will just feature the young cast.

And if that sounds complicated, it basically boils down to James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender starring as Professor X and Magneto rather than Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.

Jean killed Cyclops and The Professor, showed no signs of being pyrokinetic or a connection to The Phoenix Force. That's just a few things.. Since I'm crunched for time I'll leave this from his Wikipedia page:

No, there is now way they read the comics. Even down to the fact that Magneto has the same number tattooed on his forearm that he has in the comics must have been sheer coincidence.

Definitely don't think Fox Marvel has caught up with WB DC movies or the mainstream Marvel......this is interesting though.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" ...calm down children... If Bryan Singer and Lauren Shuler Donner have taught us anything it's that they haven't actually read any comics and this is probably (if at all) going to introduce a version of Apocalypse as a child or time travel to see him as the first mutant or something stupid. If DOFP is sweet and leads me to believe it's going to tie to an actual Age of Apocalypse, then sweet! But if DOFP ends up being another typical Bryan Singer "hey guys let's talk for 80%, make 15% secretly about gay rights, and 5% action" like his other X-Men movies then No Dice.

There was never any indication that Magneto built his machine that long ago. Also, we have no idea how long Rogue, was uh, Rogue so, you can't really determine how long it took him to build the machine. Also, Magetos machine never involved Rogue, however, the strain would have killed him, so once he found out there was a mutant he could transfer his power to, he made the choice to use her instead of sacrificing himself.

Mystique was posing as Henry Gyrich for "quite some time" She had access to files on dozens of mutants as Senator Kelly reveals in the beginning of the film. Its not much of a leap of imagination to say that this is how they found Rogue

He never said his plan was to "rule them" after turning them into mutants. He just wanted to quell the anti mutant sentiment by having everyone a mutant.

Movies are obviously going to have differences from the comics. Hollywood is a business, not just a foundation to make live action comic books. Hugh Jackman is a huge star and his career blew up after the first X-Men film and Wolvie is and always has been the most popular X-Man. Its pretty blatant why he is the central character and overshadows the other X-Men.

Yeah, yeah, Rogue was useless and weak, so what?? Ras Al Ghul is a caucasian ninja, Black Widow doesn't have a Russian accent, Iron Man is more like Robert Downey Jr than he is like the actual comic book Tony Stark, Thor is an alien. You just have to accept changes in these films and enjoy them

Let's face it, old two X movies not aged well, why we like it, because they were better movies compared the other bad films but things have changed we saw superior movies like Batman Begins, TDK , Ironman and Avengers . Third movie was horrible and it killed serie , one thing I don't understand why fox still stick with this contunity , even first class has many contunity problems after X3 ,why Fox still fallows X3 contunity , it's a movie should forgetten already. Why they are not make a reboot? Comic book fans hates X3 and casual movie crowd already forget that, just start a fresh continutity.

I definitely won't watch DOFP because none of my favorite X-men exist in this movie. Cyclops, Emma, Magic, Pyclocke, Nightcrawler, Gambit and Angel not in this movie and rouge will be that boring girl again and probably Collosous and Kitty will be not in important role. It looks just a Wolverin movie and some X-men makes cameo.

Speaking of Wolverine a little advice for Marvel and Fox, please stop overusing Wolverine! This really started bugging peoples. The Wolverine is an okey film , not great not bad (at least better than origins) . I like the movie but I think Jean Grey scenes really forced . They don't have chemistry (in comics too please let her die) and stop making that is a important thing .

They dnt even have any power houses on their team! But the original trilogy characters have multiple! What I'm wondering is which X-Men are going to even be in the film to go up against Apocalypse? Wolverine, Iceman, Colossus, Storm, Kitty... Then hopefully they will keep the new characters from Days of Future Past - Bishop, Warpath, Sunspot, Blink... And this morning it was leaked that the First Class actors would be back as well...

Thor and Hulk would whoop Apocalypse's ass :P

The only reason the X-men got high critical acclaim was because at the of it's release, there was nothing to compare it too. X-men 1 and 2 would get destroyed at the Box office if it went up against Avengers. Bryan Singer doesn't know how to write action, and the first movie was full of plot made no sense. In X-men 1 we never got an explanation on how Magneto knew who Rogue was, How he tracked her down, How he knew what her powers were, and how he knew when her powers would manifest, and how he built that machine years before Rogue knew she was ever a mutant. Magneto's plan of turning the humans into mutants was also dumb, because he was under the impression that they would follow his lead rather than just straight up kill him.

The first 2 X-men movies didn't have any X-men in them. All I saw Wolverine stealing the spotlight from other team-mates. We never saw Cyclops's bad-ass leadership skills, Iceman wise-cracking jokes, and instead of Rogues usual in-your-face attitude, she was portrayed as a weak and useless character.Plus the movies rely way to much on Proff X being drugged or knocked out. As someone who reads the comics, i should be able tell who someone like is Iceman is by what he says first, and not by his powers

-Wolverine's "love" for Jean was just poorly written and rushed, especially when you consider that the first 2 X-men movies collectively span 5-7 days tops. As much the movies favor Logan, they ignore one of his greatest characteristics, The strong bonds he forms with his friends and enemies.

They were bad adaptations(exuding first class, and Wolverine 2.) that I will instantly forgive is they cast Keith David as Apocalypse, and have him doing nothing but uttering death threats for 3 hours straight.
