New "G.I. Joe: Rise Of The Cobra" Trailer...

Okay, so I don't know how many countless web sites are running around reporting that in the new Japanese 'G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra,' trailer we get a glimpse of Joseph Gordon Levitt as

Cobra Commander. However, the image that people have claimed to be Cobra, looks a lot like 'The Doctor' character from the comic books. So I figured, imdb.com should have a list of both the characters as well as all of the actors that will be playing them in the film. According to the movie website, there is no 'Doctor' character listed to be in the film. Now, I don't know how reliable it is, but it is certainly something to speculate over. As you might have seen in a previous article, Joseph Gordon Levitt is set to play the Cobra Commander and his face was supposed to be revealed in the film. In his interview with New York Magazine, he indicated that the audience would barely be able to tell that it is him.

"Yeah. My face is in it. There's this crazy kind of getup that I wear. It's got makeup and it's got all this other stuff, and it's a mask, basically. You can hardly tell it's me. And that, to me, is the best. That's why I love Daniel Day-Lewis or Gary Oldman. Actors like that, where they're so different as each character, the actor disappears.

If you watch the trailer below, you can catch the image of the supposed 'Cobra Commander' approximately 7 seconds in. G-Man and I talked it over for a while this morning, and we both concluded that we hope that the character we see is either not Joseph Gordon Levitt, or that the actor will be playing both roles. I really hope that the film maker did not alter the appearance of the Cobra Commander to this extent. About 5 months ago, G-Man posted this article where he had found "G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra" movie cards. There is a card that happens to resemble the image that everyone claims to be 'Cobra' in the trailer, but he is listed as being the Doctor. What do you guys think? Is this all just a lot of hype? Do you think that the character in the trailer is really Joseph Gordon Levitt, or could it be someone else? Do you think that the film makers would really alter the Cobra uniform to this extent? Could it be that this is just the 'Doctor'?
