Image Comics announced at ComicsPRO that they'll be working with Diamond Comic Distributors to create an all-new monthly magazine called Image+. The magazine will feature upcoming Image Comics releases and the first twelve issues will contain an original, four-page THE WALKING DEAD story.
This story will be dealing with Negan's origins and will have Robert Kirkman writing with Charlie Adlard on art. In total, this will be 48 pages of backstory. Negan is one of THE WALKING DEAD's most iconic villains, known for terrorizing Rick Grimes and his people. The villain is capable of the unthinkable.
“PREVIEWS is a useful tool for retailers and customers alike,” said Corey Murphy, Director of Sales at Image Comics. “With the Image+ magazine and the new and original content each issue, month in and month out, we hope to bring fresh eyes and excitement to our PREVIEWS product listings once again.”
Each issue of Image+ will come in at 64 pages, and in addition to news about upcoming releases and the Negan story, it will also contain interviews, spotlight features, and preview pages. Image+ will be free to those who purchase the Previews Catalog or can be purchased separately for $1.99. Standard solicitations for Image will continue to appear in Previews Catalog.
Image+ makes its debut in May.
