Long Beach Comic Expo 2014 and Comic Vine

Will you be at the show on May 31 and June 1?

This weekend, May 31 and June 1, is the Long Beach Comic Expo. Each Spring, there's been a one-day expo but this year it's expanded to two days. Comic Vine has always attended each of the Fall shows but this is the first time we'll be at the Spring Expo.

You can check out the Long Beach Comic Expo website HERE. If you want to jump straight to the programming, you can click HERE.

Comic Vine won't just be roaming the show floor taking pics of Cosplayers, doing interviews, and filming a Mystery Art Challenge, we're actually playing a bigger role in this show. I will be moderating a few panels on Saturday, May 31.

  • 12:00 - 12:45 Wetworks 20th Anniversary Panel with Whilce Portacio. There will also be free anniversary Wetworks print (while supplies last).
  • 3:30 - 4:14 Comic Pros Beyond the Page with Gerry Conway, Len Wein, and Marv Wolfman. This panel with these legendary creators will look at some of the characters they've created and how they've gone outside the comics into other media.
  • 5:00 - 5:45 Friends of Comic Vine. We're having our own panel. So of course we got Brian Buccellato, Dustin Nguyen, and Joshua Hale Fialkov to be part of it. It'll be like a live-action podcast and I'm sure we'll go off topic. I'll also have some of those interesting questions related to comics that they love answer. You'll be able to see them come up with answers on the spot.

Make sure if you're in the Long Beach/Los Angeles area you make your way to the show. It's always a fun time and we're pretty excited to be a part of it. Visit the Long Beach Comic Expo WEBSITE to find out how you can buy tickets plus get the rest of the show schedule and find out what creators will be in Artist Alley.

Questions and Filming!

We are planning on filming the panels. So if you have any questions for any of the creators on those three panels--Whilce Portacio, Len Wein, Gerry Conway, Marv Wolfman, Brian Buccellato, Dustin Nguyen, or Josh Fialkov, put 'em in the comments below and I'll be sure to ask.

See you this weekend!

(A question for Whilce.)

I really enjoy your work on Wetworks very much from the art and the idea of the team of armored symbiotic commandos fighting vampires, so the thing that always curious me about this team how did you come up with this idea in the first place ? Hope that you have a nice day.

Don't forget, ask here if you have questions. For any of the three panels. We should be recording them and posting them here.
