Lois Lane Is Missing But Another Lois Shows Up at the Daily Planet

Lois Lane is going undercover as...Lois Lane?

There's a lot of confusion going on in Superman's corner of the DC Universe. In 2011, the DCU was rebooted after the Flashpoint story arc under the "New 52" banner. The characters were a little younger, and some aspects of their past were changed a little. The New 52 version of Superman died a few months ago, but the pre-Flashpoint version of Superman ended up in the current timeline with his wife, Lois Lane, and their son, Jon, after the Convergence story arc.

When the New 52 Superman died, some energy was expelled and passed through Lois and Lana Lang. This resulted in both gaining superpowers. They decided to honor the memory of the fallen Superman by operating as Superwoman.

While both Lois and Lana are trying to figure out how their different powers work, Lois faced a deadly threat that seemingly resulted in her death. Lana was the only one that witnessed Lois' demise, and the rest of the world was left wondering where Lane has been.

This is where the pre-Flashpoint version comes in. As a reporter in her own timeline, she knows she's disappeared from time to time while chasing down a story. She decides to try to figure out what happened. Her plan involves going to the Daily Planet and posing as the missing Lois. Since she's a little older, will it be possible for her to pull off the act?

DC Comics has given us an exclusive first look at Action Comics #965. Here's what happens when Lois walks into the Planet.

Luckily for Lois, it looks like everyone believes she's the Lois they all know. Why else would they think otherwise? There is still a lot about this world Lois doesn't know about. She'll have to stay on her toes while she tries to figure out what happened to the other Lois. It's possible she's dead, but characters rarely remain so in comics. Then again, could the DCU handle having two Lois Lanes running around?

"Lois Lane: Back at the Planet" starts in Action Comics #965, on sale October 12.
