The British SAS soldier is headed to the big screen!
If you are a big fan of Warren Ellis' ' Gravel' then you will be happy to hear that the rights to the story have been picked up by Legendary Pictures, according to a report by Variety. The good news? Warren Ellis will be writing the first draft of the script in addition to serving as the executive producer on the project. This is not the first of Ellis' creator developed stories that has obtained Hollywood's attention! In addition to 'Gravel,' Ellis' 'Red' and ' Ocean' are currently in pre-production and developmental stages at Summit Entertainment and Warner Brothers respectively.
'Gravel,' is the the story of a British SAS soldier, Sergeant William Gravel, who utilizes his knowledge of black magic arts and skills as a "combat magician" to do his job. The character has appeared in several of Ellis' series including ' Strange Kiss' and ' Strange Killings.' It will be interesting to see which which storyline Ellis chooses to transcend to the big screen, and how much of the original story will influence the film.
