Kick-Ass Has Found A Distributor!

Looks like we can see the movie in 2010!!

I still can't get over the Kick-Ass footage shown at San Diego Comic-Con.  It blew me away with its crazy intensity.  It was also refreshing to see that it won't be straying far from the actual comic book.  The biggest worry we had was what studio, if any, would distribute a movie filled with such insane sequences and profanity.  Most studios seem to want to steer away from the R-rated comic book movies after the less-than-stellar box office results of Punisher: War Zone and Watchmen.

What studio is brave enough to take on Kick-Ass?  Lionsgate.  They're also the same studio that released Punisher: War Zone.  The studio plans a wide release of the movie in 2010.  We've heard how director Matthew Vaughn's Marv Films company privately funded the movie but according to Variety, Brad Pitt's Plan B also assisted with the production and financing.  I wasn't aware of that.  There's no word on when in 2010 we'll be seeing it.  It's great that this is actually going to happen.  The movie's cast includes Nicolas Cage, Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

How excited are you over seeing this movie in theaters?
