KICK-ASS Contest

Become your own superhero in BALLS TO THE WALL.

This could be -- WILL BE -- you.
This could be -- WILL BE -- you.

Ha! As if there weren’t enough concerns about KICK-ASS inspiring real life copycats. Those irascible rascals, Mark Millar and John Romita Jr., are hosting a contest where you - - that’s right, you! - - can design your own superheroic identity for a chance to appear KICK-ASS’s sequel comic, BALLS TO THE WALL.

“But Tom, I don’t know how to sew a costume!” you exclaim.

Relax. Breath. You don’t have to know how to sew to enter this contest and realize your wildest dreams of amateur vigilantism. You don’t even have to get up from your chair. All you have to do is mosey your browser on down to I WILL KICK ASS dot com and use this interface the good KICK-ASS people have designed for you to doctor any photo of yourself that you upload with all kinds of superhero costume accessories, weapons and backdrops for your own faux-cover. Even children, infants and the elderly now have the opportunity to visualize their dreams of taking the law into their own hands so colorfully. This contest, of course, follows the tradition of the contest that preceded the production of the first KICK-ASS. As I recall, Mark Lizewski won a charity auction for the chance to pick Kick Ass’ real name and chose to name him after himself.

Millar and JRJR give you the skinny on this contest in their own, quite entertaining way with this video. Not only do they lay the rules and the prizes out, they actually play up a conceit that’s straight out of a mind-swapping comics plot and impersonate each other. Witness it below…
