Iron Man Teams With Fashion Designer Timm Gunn

Crazy crossover or brilliant marketing?

Every once in a while we see real celebrities break crossover into the world of comics.  The recent person to make a splash has been President Obama.  According to the New York Times, Fashion Consultant Tim Gunn from "Project Runway" is making the leap.  No need to worry about his safety.  When evil comes to a fashion exhibition, Gunn models Iron Man's suit and fights them off.

Why is Tim Gunn making an appearance in the Marvel Universe?  Marvel has announce the August release of "Models, Inc."  The mini-series will feature Marvel's model characters such as Millie the Model, Patsy Walker and Mary Jane.  The cover of Models, Inc. #1 will be drawn by Phil Jimene, who recently gained media attention with his Obama cover for Amazing Spider-Man #583.

Is Marvel trying to reach out to fashion fans?  I would think your average Marvel comics reader wouldn't know who Tim Gunn is.  Is Marvel hoping to gain the attention and readership of a new group of people?  Will we see the return of comics such as Millie The Model?  What do you think?  Is this a smart move or just a crazy crossover?
