We know the subtitle of a Marvel Studios movie sequel can give us some big clues what we can expect. With Guardians of the Galaxy, all we saw was the number 2.
There's no way they'd just call it "Guardians of the Galaxy 2," right?
There was also a lot of speculation after director James Gunn posted a tease image about working on the script.
It was deduced it has to contain six characters. Those that figured this were correct, in a way. Apparently Kevin Feige let it slip during an interview. The official title is:
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2"
"Yes, the official title of the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Kevin Feige recently let the title slip while doing Ant-Man press, which I'm really happy about because God knows I've let more than one thing slip accidentally while chattering away on this FB page."
So what did we learn from the title? Absolutely nothing. At least it go with Star-Lord's Awesome Mix Vol. 2 cassette.
