Guardians of the Galaxy Head to "Planet Venom"

Way I see it is that Flash Venom is standing In all of the symbiotes, and they all start to imitate and join on to him. if there was anyone else there then some would become extreme versions of them if they prefered them as a host.

@mechapod: Eh anything related tot he Beyond is kind of out the window with as many retcons he had. I'm pretty sure the Beyonder doesn't have his own dimension anymore.

Though didn't the symbiotes come from another dimension, beyond our own? I thought the first appearance of Venom was ASM #300, which revealed that the black costume Spider-Man had gotten in Secret Wars #8 was truly an alien. But Secret Wars takes place in the Beyonder's dimension, I thought.

Sounds like another fun story. Guardians is the only current team book where I care about all the characters.

Agent Venom, as written by Rick Remender and Cullen Bunn, rapidly became my favorite character and is cherished by me as I find him very relatable to my own life. You've yet to really do much with Flash but I will say this now: do not, please, do NOT f**k him up or I will be very unhappy with your continued existence as the man in charge of Venom.

I always thought the venom symbiote had been treated as a item far more than as a character than it should have been. It's clearly a thinking, emotional, and honestly damaged being and that seems to fall to the wayside of the hosts all the time. Been driving me crazy for a long time

I started reading guardians when venom joined, and while I enjoy the other characters and stories now, I joined because I knew this was where it was going.

Planet symbiote, bring it on.

Those were my questions. The only answer I could think of is that maybe Earth's atmosphere has an effect on them. In an issue of Amazing Spider-Man I think, it was Spidey's hypothesis of why the symbiotes are vulnerable to sonics and fire in the first place, he believed that they had perhaps evolved in a different atmosphere that wasn't conducive to either.

I don't like that this story exist. In 2012 they had a Carnage, Venom, and Scarlet Spider cross over mini event and it was all about the symbiotes coming from the microverse... only two years later and now they come from a planet... retconned so fast it makes the stories we read seem pointless, but I guess if the story is about a planet getting corrupted by them and them not coming from there I'll be fine with it.

I wish Bendis wrote Guardians with at least half of the charm and heart found in All New X-Men.

Huh. Venom has been around for what 30 years and this is just now happening. Weird.

So here's a couple of nitpicks. First, why do the all alien symbiotes seem to have white spider like markings on their chests? Second, why are all the symbiotes black? Venoms descendants come in every color of the rainbow red, blue, yellow, green, purple, are venoms kids and grandkids somehow special?

@powerflux: no they didn't forget, I've read that story and they never said it was the symbiotes home planet just that it was a planet ruled by symbiotes

Hey were is Angela...? I wonder if Bendis is going keep her in the comic our if he's replacing her with Captain Marvel.

I see now why venom is now involved,I liked him in his solo series building flash venom's character,Im skeotical of Bendis' plan for the Guardians of the Galaxy,but Planet venom does sound kinda cool,my moneys on skrulls being involved somehow

any time there is a planet of the symbiotes, or symbiote infestation, I am greatly dissapointed, and the story contradicts previous symbiote info

Anybody want to make odds on Rocket and/or Groot getting infected(?) by a symbiote?

@powerflux: The planet they went to was actual one that was already taken over by the symbiotes, not their home world. However, the bit in the article about not knowing how the symbiote got in the custom dispensing machine (where Spidey found it) was actually explained in Planet of the Symbiotes: http://imgur.com/a/cvYkH

The current Guardians of the Galaxy run by Bendis isn't that bad as some people say. It's nowhere near as good as DnA's work.

I thought that too. I had to look it up. This is what I found.

"The backstory to the concept of the symbiotes has never been clearly established. It is implied that Galactus, devourer of worlds, consumed a world which they had conquered and where they had thrived, based on Carnage's reaction to the Silver Surfer, former herald of Galactus. It is shown through the Carnage symbiote that this was a world whose dominant life forms had been overrun by the marauding symbiotes, though whether or not it is the world on which the symbiotes originated is never clarified."

I could have sworn that they said ages ago this story was coming.

@masterofevil: Yes u did. It was in the Spiderman issue where the Carnage symbiote bonded with Silver surfer and became Carnage Cosmic. Apparently,This happend some long time ago because all symbiotes have an inborn fear of both Galactus and Silver surfer as the surfer summoned Galactus to "Their" planet and he consumed it.Ill dig up the book and try to post scans.

I hope Galactus comes to eat the planet and all the symbiotes attack and cover him....

Also I wonder if what Toxin talked about in the Venom series (The Culling or something) will occur

@judasnixon: Actually they did....There was an old spiderman comic during the clone saga where they had to stop the invasion, and went to the planet. Wonder if they are lying, or just forgot.

I'm kinda surprise that after all these years they haven't done this yet.......
