Good Weekend For Wolverine, What Should Be Next?

Wolverine is the best there is this weekend at the box office.

Pretty much everyone has gone to see "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" this weekend.  Even though today is not over, early reports are saying Wolverine will be bringing in a whopping $87 million dollars (in the U.S. box office, other reports say $160 million total).  This gives Wolverine the second best "X-Men" opening right after X2's $102.2 million.  But X2 had the advantage of a four-day holiday weekend.  Comparing Wolverine to Iron Man, last year it earned $102 million in this same weekend.  It looks like Wolverine did pretty well.

Now that he's shown Fox and Hollywood that he can carry his own movie (with a lot of mutant help, of course) what should the furry lil' mutant do next?  I'm sure we can all agree that there will be a sequel.  Yes we'd all love a Deadpool spin-off and even a Gambit one, but let's talk about Logan.

Hugh Jackman himself said he already talked to the writers and he's a big fan of Wolverine's Japanese saga.  There is still room in between this movie and the first X-Men movie.  His time in Japan would make a great storyline.  Should they try to bring in the Romulus story?  What about Daken?  Maybe joining Alpha Flight?  It could probably never happen, but what about his first meeting with Hulk?  Should the next movie even be another X-Men prequel?  Why not a story taking place after X3.  Can you tell where I'm going with this?  What about (say it with me...) "OLD MAN LOGAN"?  Maybe that'd be better for a third Wolverine spin-off or when (shudder) Hugh Jackman starts showing his age.

What do you think?  Where do you want Wolverine to go next?
