First Official 'Gotham' Cast Image

Pretty cool. I wish that there was less photoshop, though. Cast images look more organic when they're just plain shots of the cast together.

On a different note, I like seeing Poison Ivy as part of the main cast.

Seems to just be a pilot cast shot (since that's all that has been filmed) as Nygma and Ivy are not series regulars as far as I am aware.

I like it. Though it looks like an exact replica of the Arrow cast shot.

It's pretty much the formula for TV cast shots.

I think there should not be much Bruce Wayne. I think there should be no catwoman (unless you make her a hooker) and no poison ivy.

Jadda Pinket Smith looks appropriatly crazy for a character named Fish Mooney. That name I still am not sure belongs to someone in comics or not.

Not having Bruce or Ivy, I can understand but why, pray tell, must Selina be a hooker to be featured? Especially in consideration of her age. It would be a bit dark for the target audience, wouldn't it?

Haven't seen the trailer yet (I know, I have no excuse...) but this picture makes me look forward to the show. I agree with the over-usage of Photoshop though.

@akindoodle: I just think it is a nice nod to Year One. Maybe it can explain why Selina had such sympathy for that young hooker. I'm not saying we need to follow her story as a hooker, maybe Gordon walks past her.

@comicace3: No it will not, The show runner has stated in an interview he does not like super hero movies or comics saying you cannot take a drama series with a man in a cape and this will be more of a gritty cop drama. So I would not get your hopes up for Batman to ever show up, Yet we are going to see a young Joker.

Sooo....does anyone else think this is a huge problem with the show?

I mean, this show is introducing Batman villains into the series while Bruce Wayne is still just a child. With the exception of Catwoman who is still around the same age. Which means that when he grows up and finally dons the cape and cowel that he's beating up a bunch of senior citizens.

This just doesn't sit well with me.

I can understand introducing Penguin (who's always been older) and maybe Scarface. But Riddler and Joker? These people are supposed to be just around the same age as Bruce Wayne.

I mean, I can understand the need to bring in Batman villains. The show probably wouldn't last a season without them. I mean the villains are the only thing that'll will separate this from any other police drama on TV. But if villains are absolutely essential, than why not set the series while Bruce Wayne has disappeared to go train with the League of Shadows or Richard Dragon or whatever? That would seem a bit more plausible.

I'm still going to give this series a shot, but this is a huge problem for me.

@the_lobster_: I wouldn't really call most of them 'senior citizens'. Bruce is how old in this? Probably 10 or 12 or something. From the look of it Riddler and Penguin in this are still somewhere in their twenties (just guessing here). Catwoman is a little older than he is and Poison Ivy looks the same as him or even younger. So even assuming that Bruce doesn't become Batman until his mid-twenties, that doesn't make Penguin or Riddler any older than around 40. And those two aren't good examples of him beating up 'senior citizens' because they aren't the kind of characters that pose a physical threat to Batman anyway. Modern Penguin is more of a crime-boss and Riddler tests him mentally.

I'll personally wait to see if any other Batman villains show up, and what manner they're presented in, before making up my mind on how I feel about this. Your point is valid to a point, but we haven't seen the majority of his villains yet so it's hard to say.

And let's be honest, we have no idea exactly how old the Joker is - nor do we know how old he is compared to Batman, because Batman's age in the comics is purposely nebulous and non-defined, especially in the new 52.

I'm pretty hyped myself.

Trying to excited...but can't really shake the feeling its just going to be another cop drama except with recognizable characters. I am really tired of those shows.

Will try it out I guess, only fair, but I don't think its for me.

@the_lobster_: I agree with you. I liked the idea of Gotham series that sets before Bruce became Batman. This is like a grittier origin version than Smallville. But I don't think it's still a good idea to see even the Joker.because he exists because of Batman. Plus, you're right about Riddler. He looks grown up while Bruce is young.

Might watch it for Riddler. Not afraid to drop it if it sucks, which it probably will.

@thespideyguy: If they did the Year One story, it could go one of two ways; really well or to hell. I guess we'll see how they play it with this story and then we must remember it's Fox. The only people I trust with TV Shows now are Netflix and NBC and even then....
