While I'd prefer Peter and MJ still be together in the main universe, I'm not going to hold that against this comic and I hope it does well.

@aros001: They could do it like new 52 Superman. Kill the current universe version and replace him with the version that everyone liked better along with his family.

Except the current universe is the Spider-Man that's always been around... they can just bring MJ back with Peter then have the pregnancy in a year or two, have the child grow up then.... eh, a permanent spider-family? We'd get bored and it'd become a hassle to write. I feel Renew Your Vows is food enough

This feels like Spider-Man...not just a throwback to a classic era, but something that feels like it belongs in the here and now. Conway has adapted well to the current style. I'm fully on board for this, it demonstrates the essential elements of the franchise: comedy, smarts, and chemistry.

I'm definitely anticipating this series then any other of the upcoming spider-man series and events. I can't wait to see the Spiderman family together in this.

I hated the issues that followed OMD but by the time New Ways to die rolled around i found my self enjoying amazing spider-man and loved what waid, kelly and slott were doing. But still something was always missing. Proper MJ!!

I'm hoping that this is not to Okee Dokee. I would like to see MJ. Peter and their daughter face some real challenges. This could be a lot of fun, but I am reserving judgement bc this could also go so wrong.

Imagine if this is a legit lifestory with every kind of drama, worry, happiness, mystery, etc. like Bendis Daredevil, Brubaker Cap, even Brubaker Iron Fist.....oh god, it would be way too good. then they'd have to integrate this somehow.......

I can't wait. Looks like everything missing from ASM currently. Hopefully they bring back the Spider-Family and retcon OMD in the main universe if this sells like wheatcakes.

Mr fantastic married, had kids and it worked just fine, Batman has a son now and his fans are not bored, old man Clark has a family and is working out better than the idea of new 52 of making superman young and single forever.

Hulk married and got a son, Wolverine too, Cyclops had a family, even freaking Vision is a family man/robot/toaster now.

The Richards have two kids.

Superman and Lois Lane had a adopted son, and now they have biological one.

Current Marvel has to appeal to the MCU millenials and fairweather fans who wan't all heroes to be jerks or PC replacements and have stories that are nonsensical and not allowing for growth.

Seems like one of the few good comics published by Marvel these days.

Plus Spidey being married and on his way to having a kid was the Spider-Man we grew up with until Marvel/Mesphisto messed it up

The real question is if J Scott campbell will do some awesome covers for this one.

What you guys are asking for is Spiderman to join the family cast. Batman's son isn't a big deal as he's Robin (own work to do) and appeared as however old he is. We didn't have to deal with a baby being raised in continuity. Vision created a family; no need for continuity. Jon Kent is 12 or so, didn't have to deal years with him being a toddler. What you guys are asking for is a normal guy to have a normal child in continuity? That means until Marvel does a time-jump, they will have to write in stories of Mary Jane getting back with Pete, them falling in love again, having a baby, pregnancy, then years 1-12 until the kid can become a hero. That's not going to happen. Unless Marvel does a time-jump of YEARS, they will NOT have a baby grow up slowly. Your way of thinking is naïve. One More Day was a mistake, but it's been done and there is continuity and logicality to how the character's lives are written.

The best example IF the path is chosen is to have the kid grow up quickly like the Richards'. This would require time jumps being after a ton of Marvel relaunches and the post SW 8 month gap? It'll happen in 3 or 4 years if they don't want their comics to go to sht. Marvel needs to focus on establishing their characters and a continuity and they will do that for a while. They threw MJ out; deal with it.

I really shouldn't be tempted by this based on Marvel's past track record but damn it I just might be. Despite his years of mistreatment Spider-Man is still my third favourite superhero and I miss the pre OMD days.

@phocracker: There's been no rhyme or reason to how the characters have acted because Marvel have hammered it over the head constantly, specifically this year alone, this reality and the choices of the characters, have all been down to demonic influence. Just because YOU are content with how everything went after the deal with the devil does not mean it was the right call to make, and Spider-Man has suffered quality wise since then.

Are you forgetting about the child Peter and MJ had in the Clone Saga? The one Marvel implied was abducted? They tricked Peter and MJ into thinking it miscarried, but we the readers know different. They can just bring back that kid, now five or eight, and go from there

Peter and MJ have remained married for virtually the whole decade in things like the newspaper strip. It never went away, MJ never went away, and now with RYV we have two ongoing continuities with Peter and MJ together again dwarfing the increasingly irrelevant universe where they aren't. YOU deal with THAT muppet!

Man, I hope Marvel will bring this to the main universe. Although, we have to see how this story plays out, with Conway on board this should be an epic story. Only thing I'm worried about is that MJ has powers too? Let's see and judge, right?

Man, can't wait to pick up the tpb. It would be awesome if Marvel would bring back Peter+MJ marriage in to the main universe. Ooh well :(

Finally the Spider-man I've been waiting for instead of disappointment we have in the main world. I can't believe how poorly Spider-man have been handled in the main universe. Need to read a lot of this book to wash the taste of 616.

i don't want them to kill pete off. that would be dumb. also, that was not the thinking that lead to brand new day. that was all joe q. i loved the fact that spiderman had finally moved away from being this loser to finally growing as a character. he had a model wife and got away from that 'parker luck'. i actually love the fact now that peter owns a company. my biggest problem with parker now was that stupid first arc. he had the leader of the group that was trying to destroy him working for him and his spidey sense didn't go off once? his spider sense went off when he was playing poker. he had all these new upgrades and was wiping the floor with people who would normally give him fits. however, when he fought horoscope guy he was having trouble with scenarios that he easily solved as regular plane old spidey. i see no reason for him and mj to be separated. joe q thought it aged parker. being a billionaire ceo doesn't really make parker look like young either.

Can this stay? Can it stay forever and never, ever leave? Let the kids have Miles.
