The Marvel Universe’s American Southwest has a hero to call its own! Today, Marvel is pleased to present your first look inside RED WOLF #1 – the brand new ongoing series from writer Nathan Edmondson (Black Widow), artist Dalibor Talajic (Master of Kung Fu) and cover artist/series consultant Jeffrey Veregge! The frontier boomtown of Timely has more than its share of scoundrels, and it’ll take a hero to keep them in line. A hero named Red Wolf – the Cheyenne who crossed the desert and stood up to Mayor Wilson Fisk and stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the fallen Sheriff Steve Rogers. But that’s all in the past. Following the events of Secret Wars, he’ll find his boots firmly transplanted into the Marvel Universe. In a world chock full of super powered heroes—and villains – Red Wolf is going to need all his wits and both his fists to serve and protect.

This December, the tale of how Red Wolf won the West begins in 1872, but his journey will take him farther than you ever thought possible. Don’t miss the bombastic debut when RED WOLF #1 comes to comic shops and digital devices!

Wanting to pick this up I liked DALIBOR TALAJIC art on Masters of Kung Fu, might need to go pick up 1872 before I read this to get some more context. That hip hop variant is fantastic!

Still debating on whether or not to get it. Can't say I have any particular interest in Red Wolf, but I really enjoy Edmonson's writing. While the art isn't my favorite style, it isn't something that would keep me away either.

Master of Kung Fu, 1872, Punisher and Black Widow were all great so I'll defo get this. Also I've been wanting a rural noir book starring American Eagle for ages but I'll take one with Red Wolf.

For some reason I was thinking this was going to be set in the present day somehow. Much more interested now knowing it's in the wild west.

1872 was fantastic and I'm more looking forward to the hinted return of that than I am this, but I'll check out the first issue at least and judge from there.

@spideycap: I think maybe the 1st few issues will be in the past and then red wolf will get transported into the present day marvel universe some how from what I have read about the series.

It IS set in the present, it says that right up there.

I hope the story takes him to the present day. That's kind of why I was excited about it. Another "Man out of time".

Probably trade wait for this. I don't wanna get too invested just for the series to get cancelled or turned completely on its head in gimmicky crossover fashion....

If and when he jumps to present day, depending how his look changes I may pick it up issue at a time. I know he needs a new look and nobody wants him to look like a savage but I don't think him becoming a run of the mill sheriff is enough to keep his series afloat.

No interest in Red Wolf especially with him being transported from the past. Maybe if he was transported to the a future instead of the present.
