Many of us are still longing for the return of Richard Rider as Nova. What was a surprise was seeing a new Nova at the beginning of AVENGERS VS X-MEN. With the new character, Sam Alexander, we had no idea what his story was or how he became a member of the Nova Corps. In AVX, he even mentioned saving Earth before. Viewers of the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series have an idea what he might be like but we still don't know where he came from.
