My fanboy dream would be to gradually introduce various members of the New Warriors & then have it all lead up to the explosion of Nitro in the comics which, in turn, lead to the Civil War storyline! Mphrrgle!!! Sorry, I just started drooling there... :)

While I do hope that it is indeed Luke Cage, I think it's funny people are already hyping over that just because he's black.

It looks pretty good, though I was a little annoyed at having to search for the 30 second trailer on YouTube because the morons at ABC decided to region block their official one.

Comments over at io9 are already crying that the VFX aren't up to par with the Avengers film. This show isn't going to be about the VFX, nor should it be, it's about the humor. Coulson is the lead for a reason. Gonna be great.

EDIT: On Coulson coming back, I don't mind it because it seemed like it was supposed to be a plot point in Avengers that wasn't used. The whole thing with Cap's cards—I kept waiting for them to reveal Coulson on life support coming around to everyone's relief, and then the payoff is his extreme dismay at the fate of his cards.

Looks awesome. I can't wait to watch this.

This is also why we're getting Luke Cage - very cheap to produce on-screen and already very popular. Also don't rule out a spin-off series. Many site have been making lists about potential franchises that could transition to the small screen and a lot of the street-level heroes are prime candidates.

@novi_homines: I’m not sure if Samuel L. Jackson or John Favreau will make an appearance, they are pretty busy with their own schedules. SLJ isn’t only tied to the Marvel Franchise, and John Favreau is busy with his own TV show right now. It would be really cool if they had the occasional cameo, though; but, even that might be a stretch.

Damn they have pretty good looking effects.

new favorite show

I'm curious if we'll see some of the FOX and Sony properties crossing over into the TV show. Usually the rights for such things are specified for movies-only and it makes me think the show would be a good place to introduce characters like Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver without the hindrance of not being able to explain them properly in Avengers 2. I also hope this means we get a good street level hero presence from this show if that is Luke Cage, I wouldn't mind seeing a recurring lawyer character who's offices are located in Hell's Kitchen or maybe even a cousin to a certain green character appearing in some capacity. This show has so much potential but sadly that also means they have so many ways to mess it up.

Anyway it looks better than Arrow so I'm happy there

Has it not occurred to most of you complaining about Coulson that the series might be set before the Avengers? Tada. Problem solved. Get over it. And does anybody else think it makes absolutely no sense for Luke Cage to be in a SHIELD series? Not saying it isn't him, just saying it's an extremely odd choice...

This is awesome. I hope this show turns out well. I want the real S.H.I.E.L.D. experience. If this turns out like Smallville i'm going to be pissed. (And yes I HATE Smallville)

Sweet Christmas!!! People love to jump to conclusions. First of all, there are like 20 African American strong guy characters at Marvel, it's like the most common super power for a black man. Second, this cast is almost exclusively new characters created for the show. J. August Richards might very well be Luke Cage, but that is a huge leap to make based on a few seconds of footage. If that character had been white I don't think people would have jumped to it being Hyperion or Sentry, or whoever. I guess it's Marvel's fault for making a bald head and black skin Cage's only costume these days.

I think J. August Richards was awesome on Angel and Conviction, and I'm looking forward to him on the show more than anyone else. But I think he would be a bad choice for Cage. He feels too upper class for Cage, and he doesn't have the physique. I trust Whedon and Marvel to be aware of this as well.

I'm stoked that Coulson is back amongst the land of the living. But his death was so good and done so perfectly in Avengers...I just hope it isn't some dumb reason or excuse on how he came back...

All i think about when i read Coulson Lives is Flynn Lives, comicvine should make a shirt with the Flynn Lives design for Coulson

If they have Luke Cage in it they just made a reason to watch TV again!

If the plot to at LEAST one episode, is that Coulson seeks revenge for what Fury did to his precious cards, I will be happy.
