First Look At "Days Missing #1"!

How do you stop the world from ending?

First Look: How do you stop the world from ending?

When Archaia and Roddenberry teamed up to release " Days Missing," I'll admit I was a bit skeptical over the storyline. I've never really been a "Star Trek" fan, and Roddenberry is behind the very successful series. I love it when a comic proves me wrong and makes me question my initial opinions; and I am so glad that I read this first issue. While I do still have my criticisms about the book itself, I was completely blown away by the quality of the writing. Phil Hester proves he is a master in his use of eloquent language. While initially I was not crazy over Frazer Irving's interior art, it grew on me as I delved into the language of the story. At first glance, Dale Keown's cover art is utterly breathtaking. It maintains a beautiful construction while utilizing objects (book, pocket watch, etc.) which represent deeper elements within the story.

Hester lays the foundation for what promises to be a successful five part series, and I am really looking forward to the next issue. "Days Missing" is set for release on August 18th, 2009.

Based on the review, do you think you might give the book a chance?
