I'll pick this up. I've been enjoying this book again since H'el on Earth ended.

Damn, the confusing Superman stories were bad enough in Action Comics by a brilliant writer (as much as I think Lobdell is underrated, he's not as good as Grant Morrison) I'm not really looking forward to this.

Looked like a dream sequence and he was getting a dose of reality at the end.

Does Chuck Norris kick ass? Why doesn't he just communicate with words?

Is Orion really strong enough to fight Superman hand to hand? Or is this only since the New 52 began?

If I could fly, I don't think I'd touch the ground again unless I had to. I dropped Supes though.. Sadly. I'm waiting for Superman Unchained... even though it's a horrible name.

I really hope that Orion has a good showing in this fight (if there really is one in the issue). A stalemate or Orion coming out on top would be my preference.

He's always (except for the cartoon where they played him for an uptight wuss) been portrayed as the physically strongest and greatest warrior of the New Gods, surpassing even his father Darkseid. Definitely reasonable to think he could stand toe to toe with Superman.

You know, as redundant as it is (hey Superman fans, a new Superman movie is coming out next month!), that Man of Steel banner actually looks kind of nice.

@med: Pardon my ignorance here... Could anyone explain the romance situation in the new 52 book? I read the first tpb and it seemed it was setting up some things with Lois, then I read solicits about Supes and WW, now from the pics above it seems he married Lana... Anyone to summarize for a non-regular like me?

@deadpool_9: This is probably some alternate reality it seems like. In the New-52 Clark's parents are already dead. I guess Superman is trapped in some form of illusion or telepathy.

Also him and Lois are not together in the New-52, instead she's not even close to him personally. They seem more like mutual acquaintances.

@deadpool_9: This may be kind of spoilery so read at your own discretion:

Clark is dating wonder woman at the mo' but it has been implied by more than one writer of more than one book that the relationship is doomed to end and doomed to end badly.

Clark likes Lois but Lois is currently dating someone named John Placeholder (that's not his real name but might as well be). Hector Hammond was screwing around in Clarks brain last iss showing us that he feels attraction to both ladies. And here I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with OmgWtf: Clark and Lois are very close, in fact Lois called Clark her "best friend" and said he "always has been". This was in supermans book so maybe OmgWtf missed it there.

As for Lana, it seems from the last page of the preview that Hammond put up a "home-sweet-home" type illusion for Supes, reuniting him with his departed parents and hometown sweetheart. And then what looks like Orions fist punches "through" the illusion, most likely bringing clark back to reality. Rudely.

Also Orion has the hots for WW.

I'll be getting this. I like Lobdell and think he's been getting some harsh treatment by some vocal critics; and Kruder's art is cool. Alternate reality stories are pretty cool -- tho they can tend to my head spin a bit!

Incidentally, I like when Clark hovers, it's a nice touch.

BTW to those who are missing Rocafort ... Fear not, he's still on the title, you'll see his work again soon, he's just getting a head start on the next arc.

Hector Hammond just feels wrong as a Superman villain.

I've gathered a lot of this without having even read the book, so I'm a little curious as to how someone reading the book would have mistaken it.

And people clearly aren't reading, because the narration clearly says "his parents are dead" and then shows him talking to his parents -- the illusory nature of this whole setup is literally handed to you.

It's a travesty that a character like Orion is in the hands of Lobdell. Why couldn't DC have let Morrison or Diggle handle him?

Hehe. It would be even funnier if it was Doomsday (getting smashed) on the cover cuz he usually wears some green.

So, this is all some dream of hallucination? Clark is married and rich, and the Kents are now alive? Weird preview.

Lookin forward to this,mostly because the name of the story is wham! And cuz of Aaron Kuder we'll get some killer art. Lol, in the last telepathic hallucination superman was out In(action comics #12) he was marrying lois, in this one he's happily married to lana,man Supes really wants to settle down!

@akbogert: I don't really read the previews myself. I prefer to read my comics all at once. Feel's like i'm getting more for my money that way. The giant fist through reality was pretty telling though.

Yeah I really hate when they put those on the comics and it really dates them too (like when you're looking through your books and see one with a banner for Batman Begins or Superman Returns) but in this particular case, for this particular comic it's not so bad.

This looks awesome. Great to see some Lana love. I must admit the whining and mooning for Lois has been tiring. I do think though Lobdell in a way kinda sets up a rather needy Clark (not Superman) who seems to focus on what he does not have as opposed to what he does. If Orion who is written as an out and out sexist jerk is actually seen as a rival for Diana, then that says it for posterity. Clark, you need to get your head out of your butt, dude, and stop dreaming like a little prissy teenage girl about fairy-tale endings and be the Super-MAN Morrison set up.

This looks interesting; it's pretty cool seeing Lana, she doesn't get enough screen (page?) time =~=

Crazy visions alright, and its wonderful to finally see Lana. Maybe its just me but I'm really anticipating this hoping to actually see Clark whoop some Orion @$$ lol.

@lordrequiem: Its hard to say. I know Orion is a power house but its hard to say he is Superman's equal. I think a lot of people forget that Superman censors himself 24/7.
