Every Wednesday, hundreds of new comic books are released, and figuring out what books are worth reading can be a daunting task. Luckily, we're here to help you out with that. Here are seven upcoming issues, in no particular order, you should consider buying on Wednesday, June 8.

Prometheus: Life and Death #1

Dark Horse has been delving into the world of Alien and Predator for almost two decades. Once again, they are working with the Prometheus film franchise to connect it to the current "Life and Death" story that is running through an Alien and Predator comics. We're excited to see what Dan Abnett has up his sleeves for this mini-series and how it all connects.

Things in Action Comics are all about to be shook up. Superman is dead. However, there is another Superman, from another universe, who could come out of hiding, once he realizes that Lex Luthor has declared himself the savior of Metropolis. We're really excited to see what Dan Jurgens will being doing on this series, since he was the writer that killed off the character back in 1993. Plus, Action Comics is going back to the original numbering.

Detective Comics #934

James Tynion IV is taking over Detective Comics. He's been writing back-up stories in Batman and had his hand heavily in the two weekly Batman books. It's about time he got a chance to head one of the big Batman titles. He's putting together a familiar team for this upcoming book which includes both heroes and villains alike. What is really cool is seeing how Batman's villain Clayface is going to play into all of this.

Flash Rebirth #1

If you read DC Rebirth, then you know the Flash had a big part in everything going on in that issue. This should be a great starting point for those who have been interested in the character but weren't sure exactly when they could jump in reading. This is one of the coolest ongoing series coming out of Image Comics.

This is an extremely fun and entertaining book that will fill a void in your life.

Empress, which is part of Marvel's imprint Icon, has been quite a stunning book so far. Emporia and her children are on the run from Morax, a bloodthirsty dictator, and their journey is taking them across the galaxy. Mark Millar and Stuart Immonen have put together a very exciting science fiction book that has a lot of potential for larger stories.

Vision #8

Vision has been on of the most mesmerizing series to come out of Marvel in quite some time. The Vision's wife killed Grim Reaper and a boy, and now the Avengers know. While this book only has a few issues left, they are going to be nail biters. Tom King and Gabriel Walta have constructed a brilliant series that mixes heroes with a horror undertone. It's utterly brilliant.
